“Decent but crowded.”
Review of Zushi Beach

Generally a nice beach, but in July and August can be rather overcrowded. Not the cleanest water, either. It tends to be a slate gray, and you cannot see the bottom. You will see beachgoers of all types here though. Young, old, singles, groups of college kids, families and a fair number of American servicemen/women.

Zushi is mainly trafficked June- September, with the beach houses taking over in July and August. If you don't like crowds, avoid it during August (Obon) as it will be quite the social spot. Tremendous views of snow-capped Fuji on clear winter days mainly in December and January. In September great views of the shadow of Fuji and color ranges. Great spot of SUP and Wind Surfing.

This beach is not really beautiful by any stretch of the imagination but it's not bad either. The main thing I like is the international flavor and the cool beach houses they put up in the summer. There is usually a good mix of Brazilians, American and, of course, Japanese. Never any trouble and you'll find people intermingling and sharing food, drinks, etc. Lots of hot-bodied young Japanese girls here. The eye-candy is first-rate!

If you need to get some sand between your toes while in Tokyo, head down to Zushi Beach on the Keikyu or JR Yokosuka Line.
Don't expect Thailand but it does have nice beach bars open from June to September. It's still warm enough after that and you could (almost) have the beach to yourself if you head down during the week.
