We stayed at the Schoolhouse at Dornie for one night the first week in May. After a long day of touring we were pleasantly surprised by the freshness of this little spot and its garden fronting the water. Our rooms were the cleanest we had seen anywhere, and the set-up was unique. Guests all have rooms with ensuite bathrooms; and downstairs their is a state of the art kitchen/ meals room/ internet access for guests to share. We had the option of making our own breakfast with the supplies provided or going down the street to the hotel for full service.

The hosts directed us to the local pub "The Clachan" for dinner - the food was by far above the level of "pub fare". Delicious, with a real high end presentation that could put big city restuarants to shame; but with all the ambiance of a small local place.

Too bad we could not stay longer.
