We stayed at The Glenelg Inn with a group of families of all ages who had flown in from all over the world for 4 nights and has the most wonderful time, this Inn has a fabulous location with the most amazing views of Skye over the water, great rooms, unbelievably good food and attentive and welcoming staff, the bar has a blazing fire and one night there was even live music from Jock - the box - and Duncan! Our own private dining room was a real bonus; It really is not an easy task to cater for such a varied and demanding group and for everyone to be delighted. Thankyou Shelia and all the team at Glenelg we will be coming back sooooon.

Family and friends all stayed at the Glenelg Inn for the weekend of our wedding. Sheila was the perfect host and not surprisingly the wedding went without a hitch. The food and the entertainment were excellent. Thank you to all the staff at the Inn...we all had a great weekend and will definitely be back.

Room Tip: The Suite is awesome.

Arrived at this little oasis after 8 hours travelling on the first day of family holiday & immediately relaxed. We were immediately made welcome & shown to a simply decorated family room with views out across the Sound of Sleat and over to Skye. Cold drinks in the garden followed & taking in the shear tranquility of this amazing location. Dinner was exceptionally good, e.g. scallops with Stornoway blackpudding & creamed leaks, langoustine & homemade mayo, mussels in white wine & garlic - puddings were a little ordinary, but the main courses blew us away...great coffee to finish. Good craic in the bar, which had a healthy mix of locals and travellers. Breakfast was spot on. Wish we had stayed for another night & visited the Brochs and ancient barracks, but onward travel to the Outer Hebrides awaited. Crossed to Skye via Glenelg Ferry which is just 5 minutes away and a hoot. Glenelg Inn is a real gem and well worth the minor detour along the road less travelled to Skye.

Had a family lunch here recently, nice rustic pubby interior, Food was good, but had to wait over half an hour before it arrived. We all decided it was "worth the wait".

I stayed here on a Ring of Bright water pilgrimage, and I have to say it is the best place to stay in a very wide area, it even gets a mention in the book. Bedroom windows overlooking the sound of Sleat and over to the mountains of Skye, a fantastic pedestal bath, a lovely traditional bar, and a fantastic atmosphere; just as a rural inn in this part of the world should be. I truly felt I was in the West Highlands, miles from the fake hotels designed for the american tourist.

I know there have been comments regarding loud music, and perhaps I was concerned about these. But having visited the place, with such a small community this forms the heart of the village, and no-one can begrudge the locals for that, instead soak up the atmosphere and get involved, or go somewhere else with your complaints!

The food was good, and my only gripe was that they were full the following night so I couldn't stay for that extra unplanned night!

What a place it was absolutely fantastic. There is nothing I can say bad about it. The people the food the atmosphere the views and the room. We stayed in the suite and it was a huge room with a view to die for. The bathroom was also huge and the bath was interesting. The food was superb we ate there every night and enjoyed every meal my husband particulary enjoyed the fish and chips. We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Thanks

Room Tip: If staying more than one night stay in The Suite
