This is a really nice, comfortable, friendly and very good value hotel, located in a prime position for Falkirk, Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The food is all locally sourced and home cooked. The beer in the little bar attached is first class

Best 3* hotel I have been to, in places it felt like a 4*. Staff were very helpful. My daughter is a fussy Vegetarian. The staff organised with the cook a meal that was not on the menu. Location is great for getting to Glasgow or the Trossachs , depending which way you are heading.
We had a room overlooking the fields were there was horses & donkeys in it. Which gave a nice feel to our stay.
The only downside was, THIN WALLS (then again there a lot of hotels like that). We had a late night arrival at 12.45am. They were stomping around the room, talking & then had a shower for about 15mins. It sounded like they were showering in the room! It was a shame that this happened as otherwise it would have been the perfect stay.
It has not put us off staying there again, should we be that way again.

Thank you for your review and I am really pleased to see that overall you enjoyed you stay with us. That is really important to me. However I am sorry to hear of the disturbance from the noise from an adjoining room. I hope you will come again before to long. Kind regards, Jonathan

Polite and helpful staff, well equipped, clean and comfortable rooms , delicious food at an equally tasty price ! A pleasant walk out to heritage site and good rail connections to central Glasgow, or motorway, and a good stop off point for trips further north.

I recently went for a last
Minute family dinner in the pub area of the hotel. I had not been for a couple of years after been a regular visitor previously. I can't believe how bad the food and wine has got. The ladies behind the bar tried their best but there just appears to be a lack of organisation. A large group of people and you need to visit the bar to order and shout over to each other what you are ordering.....a bottle of wine for £10 you think great....paint stripper!! Not enough peroni pint glasses to serve you drink in....the list is endless! The one think I would say that the food was lovely.

As people have said this place is a charming wee pub hotel and could do a lot better with some small changes.

As it was a Saturday night there was also a singer who was playing some good music but couldn't sing.

I don't think I would return to the pub again after this.

I really hope management at the charming wee pub hotel get their act together or it could be curtains.

I stayed here for 1 night during the commonwealth games and had a warm welcome from reception (greeting with a whisky and some shortbread). Romms was a decent size, clean and a lovely freshly cooked breakfast.

We stayed in one of the "bungalows" - lovely, bright rooms with a large bathroom, TV, ironing board & iron, tea making facilities, phone - everything you would expect. Staff were friendly and helpful, giving us all the information we required to get to Glasgow. There is a bus just opposite the hotel going straight to the centre of Glasgow. If you come home later at night, you need to get the train to Cumbernauld then a taxi (office just outside the station). There is a bar at the hotel where food is available until around 9.00pm if you arrive late. We only had breakfast, which was great, though we had to rush to get a train for the Games. Slightly disappointed we couldn't get an early breakfast. Car parks have CCTV and a night porter is available. All in all, very pleasant stay, would recommend it.
