My girlfriend and I went to Playa Viva earlier this summer and were completely wowed by the experience. Not only did we enjoy the amazing facilities, the gorgeous landscapes and ocean views, but fell in love with the personal touch - the people and community. Being able to sit down in the evening with your fellow travelers for a meal is a wonderful way to make friends. In fact, just last week, we met up with a new friend while in San Francisco. The staff is warm, the food a AMAZING, the uber-guide Johnny is super accommodating, and the on-site manager, Julia, is so warm and down-to-earth. She is impressive. The two most memorable life changing events on the trip were the trip up the mountain to the Gutierrez home where a family with no electricity or running water makes you a meal not out of obligation, but real hospitality and friendship. We played dominoes and volleyball with them (don't be fooled, they are really good btw). The other was being able to participate in the release of dozens of baby turtles. Wow, what an amazingly fulfilling experience that was.
As soon as we can go back again, we will. Thank you Playa Viva for an amazing unforgettable experience. No wonder you have won travel awards!
