“Caves and Twin Zipline were amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

I've read other reviewers comments about the caves not being up to their expectations, and they are certainly not the caves one would expect, more like caverns, but very interesting. We were there on a Wednesday, so it was fairly quiet on the grounds. The trails are well-maintained, but it is necessary to wear shoes with good grip if you plan on entering any of the caves, especially Fat Man's Misery, which is not for the claustrophobic.

The twin zipline was my first time on a zipline and it was so much fun, I'm hooked :)

The lack of signage/directions when you first enter the park - and when you get off the suspension bridge - is a bit disappointing, and should be improved.

Visitors are amazed at the caves, caverns and crevasses which began forming 450 million years B.C. (the Ordovician era). If guests are uncomfortable with going into the infamous “Fat Man’s Misery”, there is a path around it. If you’re ‘hooked’ on ziplining, why not return for an Eco Adventure tour, which offers a 300 ft. forest zip line and a 1000 ft. escarpment zipline. Thank you for your comments regarding signage, which we will address with new eyes.

We truly appreciate your positive remarks. Whether the skies are clear or cloudy, Scenic Caves offers a splendid location for views and photography. In addition to the Suspension Bridge’s 10,000 square km views of beautiful countryside and Georgian Bay, some of the best locations for photos from the trails through the Caves and Caverns include: Lover’s Rest, Suicide Point and Signal Point.

The outdoor adventure offered at Scenic Caves does require walking high up the Niagara Escarpment, through caves, over and around boulders located in the caverns. It is an unspoiled environment, however there are some very steep sections where sturdy metal stairs are located to assist you in your exploration. We constantly remind guests to wear comfortable hiking/running shoes with good treads. Sandals or shoes with smooth soles are unsafe. Our grounds people clean all the trails daily and there are numerous garbage containers throughout the route – it is unfortunate when visitors disrespect nature.

“Fun afternoon activity!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2013

Friends and I visited Blue Mountain over the labour day weekend and chose to visit the Scenic Caves after lunch on the Saturday! It was $54 to experience the caves, suspension bridge and zip lining! We had a blast! It was a great way to get outside and enjoy the nice weather. Walking through the forest up hill was some great exercise as well! There is also a mini-putt area to enjoy. Zip lining was extremely fun! What a great experience and beautiful area to do it in! Overall fun activity and very well kept grounds!

Wow! I counted seven exclamation marks. Thank you for your animated endorsement of the outdoor adventures we offer. Scenic Caves is a privately owned business located about a 5 minute drive from Blue Mountain Resort. A perfect daytrip destination, it’s approximately a 2 hour drive from anywhere in southern Ontario.
