“Breakaway”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Nice reasonably priced location for a breakaway, especially for skiers looking for spring ski fun. Wished I still was a skier. We were on a breakaway combined with attending a three day dance competition & stayed the weekend. Short walk to the Blue Mountain Inn Conference Centre, where the competition was held. Shuttle bus was available but we walked. Ski hills were just outside the windowed wall of the reception area for the dance competition.

If the opportunity presents, we will return and choose the sunrise side in the rear on a higher floor...we like the morning sun.

Stayed in the one bedroom suite. Suite was clean and modern. The entire decor of this hotel is beautiful. The year round pool and hot tub are to die for. Close to all shops and restaurants. Plenty to see and do. Great for families. There's a playroom in the main lobby. Nothin spectacular but a nice touch. Wish I could have stayed longer. Great value in spring...not to over packed.

Dear LeslieAnnew,

Thank you for your terrific comments, we are happy to hear you enjoyed the room and hotel amenities. The year round pool is a huge hit, a unique pleasure in the midst of a variety of weather conditions. Yes, Spring is definitely a slower season for us and if a quiet getaway is your desire then the off seasons are a good choice.

Loved the central location about 3 min from the slopes. Outdoor hot tub and heated pool was absolutely great. Kitchenettes with dishwashers and microwave and hot plates were awesome for cooking dinners. Overall a great stay. Rooms overlooking the pool also have the slopes in view. Underground parking was also available. Great location for touring the village shops. Excellent overall trip.

Dear Trbleshooter,

We are delighted to hear about your recent visit and just how much you enjoyed the resort and hotel itself. The Mosaic suites are in a great location and offer the added bonus of a year round outdoor heated pool and hot tub, nice after a day on the slopes or any time of the year, really. The kitchenettes are terrific for a quick meal if you aren’t in the mood to eat out.

we went to blue mountain and stayed at mosaic in the beginning of February this winter,,,, we had a great time at the resort, and the hotel was very nice, the staff was accommodating and friendly.
Our room, a 1 bedroom suite, was clean and very nice in decoration, other than the blinds on the patio door were broken( would not open) which was no big deal, the fry pan the no stick was burnt the pan had been over heated so bad it was distorted, we asked for a new one and there was one at our door within 15 minutes.
the pool was awesome, was invigorating to go swimming outside in - 8 to -12 temps.
We stayed 6 nights and would definitely go back their again.

the only thing that would have been nice if like the other hotels there if they would have had a bar or restaurant within itself so we did not have to get all dressed up in winter gear to just go for a drink or nibble

Room Tip: second or third floor overlooking the pool

This is a late review since I couldn't upload one with a return trip within a month apart.

In any case our return trip in August (had a visit in July) was certainly a good contrast to my experience noted in my previous review. The staff was definitely more attentive and I could honestly say that it was our best visit yet.

We had 2 rooms booked with 3 families (5 adults and 8 kids all under the age of 13) and the 5 bedrooms in total served us well. It was my first time to have a 3 bedroom suite here and it was standard Mosaic amenities with more space. Very good space for 2 small families to share for certain.

Definitely will come back for more in the future. Certainly this visit made up for my July visit.

Room Tip: Get a high room for good views

We found the staff to be very knowledgeable, the facilities very clean, and the outdoor pool fun (especially in winter!). The underground parking was reasonable @ $10/day. It was great being able to head to the main level, walk outside, and be surrounded with activity such as restaurants, skating, bars, etc. We will stay here again.

The location is great and the hotel is pretty clean as well.
In the room, there is this loud air vent on the wall that blasted cold air or hot air, but the hotel staff was able to turn it off for us.
Most of the staff were super nice and friendly. I only encountered two people that were kind of rude. One was a man at the front desk who did not smile at all, and was very abrupt. The other person was a member of housekeeping. We asked her to just clean the bathroom for us, as a member of our family suffered from severe food poisoning from eating at Wild Wings (they ended up going to the ER).
But she didn't do a good job. We specifically asked her to clean the bathtub and toilet (still hairs were remaining) and she didn't even flush the toilet. Making us believe she just pretended to clean the bathroom. And she was pretty rude as well.
Other staff members were excellent though. They held open doors for us, and helped us with our luggage even when it wasn't their job.
All in all, I would go to this hotel again. (But never again to Wild Wings!!)

Dear CandaceSohn,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience at Blue Mountain Resort and the Mosaic hotel, guest feedback is paramount to the success of any business and as such we truly value what our guests tell us. We sincerely appreciate your recognition of our associate’s exemplary services, our training programs are focused on service excellence and it makes us proud to hear your comments. What a shame that you encountered a couple of individuals that soured your initial impression. Although we are unable to identify the individuals for coaching purposes, we will provide your comments to the departments involved as a reminder of how the actions of one can impact the team.

Once again, thank you for your comments; we do hope you’ll be back again soon.
