Lovely "old style" hotel - not a plastic wardrobe in sight. Wonderful gardens with gorgeous aromas and views - just absorb the quietness and you'll feel de-stressed very quickly.
The menu in the restaurant seemed a bit limited - but the food was well cooked, if a bit lacking in spices etc - surprising given the variety in the garden. (or could have been our choice of dish)
The lack of a bar seemed strange - no where to have a cold drink after a walk along the beach. (The only 2 hotels I have stayed in over 50+ years without a bar have been in Pornic!).
WARNING! If you are one of those people who attract biting insects, make sure you take some appropriate cream with you. The day after we left my wife looked like she had been attacked by a cloud of mosquitos - an understandable problem given the number of animals, plants etc within the hotel's grounds. Still, did not detract from the lovely atmosphere there.
Would we stay there again - definitely yes (just take some anti-mosi cream).More
