“An absolute gem!”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

We visit family in Sale quite often and stayed at different hotels, b&b's or family members houses. Well we know where we will always be staying from now on! This place is so much more than a b&b, it is a stunning property, beautifully restored and definitely has the wow factor, and what tops it off is the warm welcome you receive from the owners and the individual attention they provide at all times.

Privacy is no problem because the owners sleep on the other side of the house. The bedrooms are a great size and so homely, the bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower create that little bit of luxury. A small selection of alcoholic beverage are available, in your room, at a reasonable rate. The breakfast is served in the fantastic farmhouse style kitchen, all ingredients locally sourced and eggs laid fresh by their very own chickens, Bertha and Bella. There are also the lovingly tendered gardens with outside dining area where you can sit at any time. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks and our daughter still talks about it a week later!!

Thank you Manon and Paul.

What a lovely review! Thank you for all your positive comments, we really enjoyed having you all staying here and are so pleased you had such a good time and we are looking forward to your next visit in October - hopefully the weather will still be good enough for you to sit in the garden! I shall instruct Bertha and Bella to lay lots of eggs and will order the "leek free" sausages from the butcher!
See you all soon x

I stayed with my 6 year old son. Manon & Paul were lovely hosts. We were both made to feel very welcome. The property and its garden were peaceful and immaculate. It was charming to be feel so welcome in such a lovely home.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely.

Manon and Paul are wonderful hosts. Due to airline problems we were delayed an entire day, and we were greeted warmly when we finally arrived and served morning tea in the garden. The setting is charming, the room spacious and comfortable with all the amenities one could want. It is a short drive of about 15 minutes from the Manchester Airport, a ten minute walk into Ashton Village where there are pubs, restaurants and shops. The bus stops almost outside the gate, and the train is not far. Breakfast was delicious, and there is a jug and fixings for coffee and tea in the room. We liked it so much we returned to stay the night before our return flight to the USA. We would surely stay again if we return to Manchester and would recommend it to anyone who would like a stay in a home setting at a very reasonable rate.

A real oasis of calm; Manon and Paul provided a really friendly welcome and made us feel quite at home. The Cottage is lovely and quiet, and has been restored and renovated with great enthusiasm and care to make the most of its historic features. It's been well decorated throughout and was very comfortable. Work is currently being done on the garden (watched over by the chickens who provided our breakfast!) and we look forward to returning at some point to see it all finished! Thank you for a lovely and memorable stay! Frances and Mark Green

We were visiting family and an event and found this place via a google search as a last minute stop over but it proved to be much more than that.

The owners have just renovated a beautiful property, set off from the main road. It has just two rooms which makes it very cosy but they are on the other side of the house from their bedrooms so you are not overheard.

We were made to feel extremely welcome, we thought our room was gorgeous and of an excellent standard, lots of great finishing touches including a lovely roll top bath. There is a little fridge with a selection of cold drinks, wine and beers which you can buy from outside your room and settle on leaving and due to its setting it is extremely peaceful.

We had our 12 month old son with us and some people can be put off by this but they made him feel welcome and had a high chair ready for breakfast etc.

Breakfast was delicious, lovely ingredients cooked well.

My husband said they had an excellent shower!

We stay in a lot of places but we thought this was exceptional and when in the area we will visit again.

Also would be ideal for Manchester airport rather than some of the soulless hotels on site there.
