Service ok, decor is slighltly dated, room was comfortable with good facilities apart from not being able to get wifi in my room. The food in the resturant was ok, but limited choices. Slept well, but breakfast was completly disorganised with no direction or intrsuctions

Very comfortable hotel with spacious and well appointed rooms. The bar has the advantage of offering three real ales - all in good condition and very competitively priced (cheaper, in fact, than the pubs in the town)

Is this an up-market luxury hotel .... no. Does it pretend to be .... no. What it does offer though is a very comfortable stay at a very reasonable price. The crowning glory of this hotel is undoubtedly the staff who were friendly, efficient and really went out of their way to assist with whatever they were asked.

The hotel is right in the centre of March but just nicely set back off the road. Parking was easy in the large hotel car park but I will agree with another comment on here that there is no signage to Reception which was a tad confusing.

The rooms were somewhat dated but what the heck .... they were large, clean and had everything in them to make our stay comfortable and pleasant and so I've no real complaints. We ate in the restaurant during the evening and everything was really lovely from the food to the wonderful staff who were determined to give our table a very enjoyable evening. Breakfast the following morning was the predicable buffet which is absolutely fine by me because it offers a choice to everyone. It was nicely cooked and plentiful.

There are plenty of in-depth comments on this hotel but based on my experience of staying in many up-market hotels the upshot is ......This was a VERY enjoyable stay, the staff are excellent, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be returning.

Stayed with my husband, room was clean and tidy but pine central, bed was not very comfortable, hubby is 6ft 4 and legs hung off the edge of the bed.

Restaurant was very dated and decorated In heavy floral, food was ok, but again was like something out of the 1990's

Ideal location for registry office in March, and we spent a lovely afternoon sat by the river. Not sure i would take the family.

The staff were friendly and efficient, especially during breakfast, which was a really tasty buffet service. The rooms were big and well appointed (kettle, hangars, pillows, blankets, soft towels, minibar, TV, etc). There was a wedding going on which we were worried about, but the music was off at midnight as promised and we heard nothing even though our room was by the lift. It is situated by town but set off so you don't get town noise. Very comfy clean bed. Good pool and sauna too. Could perhaps have provided soya milk and could also spruce up the front - the building looks bland, but there is good easy parking. Altogether very good and I would definitely stay there next time.

Room Tip: Go on second floor in case there is a wedding (this would be advisable for any applicable hotel)

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as I was doing a course in the area. First impression wasn't great! No signage to Reception which turned out to be a small window type set up in the hall. The whole reception area is a tad shabby. Wasn't further inspired by the awful choice of decor en route to our room (29). However, got a very welcome surprise when I entered our room! Lovely 4 poster bed with drapes, pine furniture including a dressing table, leather sofa, small open east facing terrace. Fairly firm but comfortable bed; pillows left a bit to be desired! Bathroom clean but a tad dated.

Comfortable bar with leather sofas; contemporary style restaurant. Breakfast adequate but enjoyable - usual Continental selection plus full English - all buffet style. Dined in on our second night. My husband chose from the main menu but didn't enjoy the cream of vegetable soup (rich & barely hot) or the chicken pie (puff pastry top and bottom; chicken in a rich creamy sauce). Not a wise choice as he doesn't like rich food! I chose from the light bite menu - lasagne, side salad & garlic bread. I enjoyed my meal although it was nothing "special".

The staff are genuinely very friendly and helpful which probably comes from working in a small private hotel as opposed to a renowned global chain.

Bottom line - would we stay here again if the need arose? Definitely! There are several good restaurants within a short walking distance as are the shops.

PS there's adequate car parking and the leisure centre's facilities are free to hotel guests!
