Owner description: Welcome to Fossils Galore, Fossils Galore is a non-profit education centre that started in 2002 as a website for round the world fossil and crystal enthusiasts, this then grew and became the centre it is today. The aim of the centre is to educate the young and old about life in the past, right back to the beginning of life. One of the first things you see as you walk into the centre is our museum where we put on themed displays of fossils and crystals from around the world, with all the information about the display around it so the public can learn about these displays in there own time and if they have any questions we always have a member of the team on hand to help answer these questions. On the second floor of the centre we have the pride of the team, our preparation laboratory where the public can see our team working on a range of bones from the Jurassic deep sea’s to Ice Age animals.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

We went with our 8-year-old son and some friends and their 4 and 2 year old, and had a wonderful time. The kids really enjoyed digging for fossils, and the museum part was very nicely presented. The shop is a treasure trove fossils, minerals and metals that are fascinating to anyone with even a passing interest in geology or archaeology. Very enjoyable, and we will definitely be back again!

“one of the best trips with my 2 grandchildren”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

In this day and age of high technology and interaction,it was an absolute joy to have the opportunity for the kids to be 'hands on'. They were quickly engaged in sifting through the the sand to find treasures and that continued through to panning for gold and sifting for shark's teeth. It is very understated and unassuming but the enthusiasm and knowledge of the volunteers was inspiring. My grandchildren,8 and 10,came home completely absorbed and spent the evening making their own topic books. Very friendly, informative and presented very simply.......never judge a book by it's cover!!! Well done to everyone involved.A great experience.

“What a find!”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

What an amazing place. Jamie was really helpful and clearly knows his stuff! His passion for the subject is infectious and it was great to see the place so busy. All the staff are really helpful - excuse the pun but a gem of a place right on our doorstep - who would have thought Cambridgeshire was so fossil rich. No doubt we'll be visiting again and again and would recommend anybody in the area to visit - they have really made an effort, well done.

“Great experience”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

had to admit when we drove past (on the way to the car park) i thought I might have made a mistake.....how wrong I was. I took my 2 grandchildren 18 months and 8, I realised that the younger was a bit too young but assumed he would sit in pushchair for the hour or so we would be there, again wrong......we spent a full day the 8 year old had a brilliant day and has not stopped talking about it. The younger was encouraged (by lovely people) to "have a go" he loved the sandpit and even got the hang of putting his "finds" in the tray and the staff were brilliant when he soaked them when he was panning for gold .......Can only say that i would happily return and have recommended it to lots of friends.......
