“Amazing Wedding Day”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

We recently held our wedding at the Plas and it was amazing. Words can't describe how helpful Erika and her team were, the organisation approaching the day was marvellous and we felt completely supported.

During the weekend all the staff (from the Assistant Manager through to housekeeping )were professional, efficient and above all friendly - all our guests commented on what a great choice. Some larger places may appear a better choice - but remember a place is only as good as its staff and it is obvious at the Plas, they all love their jobs.

We can't thank them enough, if you want a perfect wedding - this is the place to go in Pembrokeshire.

I booked a 2 night stay at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel through Groupon for £79.00 and was really pleased with the hotel. We were welcomed at reception and told everything we needed to know for our 3 day stay. After reading the reviews for room 12, I was a little bit worried when we were told we would be staying in that room but were assured as soon as we entered the room. It was clean, tidy and comfy. We had breakfast both mornings with a large selection of juices, cereals, fruit, toast and cooked breakfast. The staff couldnt have been more helpful and we were advised of places in the local area we could visit. Would stay here again if we had the chance. Lovely, quiet visit.

I stayed at the Plas Hyfryd whilst working in the local area for a few days. Staff were very hospitable, the room was clean, comfortable and everything worked! It was nice to have bottles of mineral water left in the room every day.
The restaurant is a little formal but the food was of a good standard. The grounds were lovely and it was very pleasant to sit out in the warm evening sunshine.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a short break with her sister and husband who were visiting from overseas. The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout. We stayed in rooms 3 and 6, which were both of a good size and clean, with comfortable beds. Room 6 had its own large private roof patio with a wooden table and 6 chairs - perfect for an evening nightcap watching the stars. We ate in the hotel restaurant on all 3 nights, as the quality and presentation of the food was of a very high standard - between the 4 of us, we tried many different options on the menu, and were impressed every time - compliments to the chef. We also found the hotel to be a very good base to tour the South West of Wales, and would definitely stay here again - highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 6 is very large with a seperate lounge and a private rooftop patio.

My husband and I decided to have a mini break away. I purchased a deal for 2 nights at £79 inc of breakfast. On arrival the staff appeared helpful, and friendly. We were allocated room 12 which from previous comments on tripadvisor I was not going to be happy. We entered the room and were amazed that the room was the same size as my utility room, although decor was ok. The bathroom had cracked tiles and black mould around the shower. I opened the cupboard door and it slammed into the door jam. The door was not able to open fully, it appeared that the room was just an add on room for the management to cram people into the hotel to earn extra cash. I can honestly say If I was paying full price I would have asked to be moved. All in all the hotel is clean and breakfast was nice. The only word of warning is request not to be put in room 12.

Room Tip: If you are allocated room 12 ask to be moved.

I stay at the Plas Hyfryd frequently. The rooms have wi fi, which is great for work. It's position in the town center of Narberth allows for a pleasant walk at night, or for a few pub visits. The rooms are comfy, well decorated, and pleasant for one. It's a first class country house hotel.

I always eat at the hotel though, the food is gorgeous. The steaks are too die for. Cant wait to go back!

Hotel Plas Hyfryd, a small privately owned 3 star hotel, is situated in Narberth, in the heart of Pembrokeshire and only a short distance from the seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot. Being central within the county, Hotel Plas Hyfryd is superbly located to take a peaceful 'away from it all' break. Little is known of the Hotel's history, Thomas Thomas, a retired surgeon, built 'Belmore House' and lived here until 1829. The house was designed by James Hughes, who was responsible for much of the development in Narberth. The name 'Plas Hyfryd' translates to the English 'lovely palace', and when you enter the front entrance and are greeted with the palatial staircase, it is easy to see why. We have fifteen en-suite rooms, including family rooms and executive suites and a stylish restaurant with an excellent menu by one of Pembrokeshire's most renowned chefs. Our function suite has all the modern facilities and comfort you would require whether you are planning a wedding, family celebration, business conference, team building event or training day. We hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you as a guest at the Hotel Plas Hyfryd.
