“Best service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

Having just returned from a two night stay I am compelled to say how impressed I was with the standard of service at this hotel, Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, in particular Sam who looked after a bunch of golfers admirably. When we had a problem rearranging a golf venue he and one of the chefs, 'Woody' went to great lengths to help us out.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable and provided everything we needed. Breakfast was superb, good choices cooked well and plentiful. I had an evening meal during my stay and it was nothing short of delicious.
As well as the service I found all the staff to be courteous, polite and always willing to be of help. The bar area is good, we were lucky enough to have great weather so enjoyed the rather nice patio for evening drinks.
Would definitely recommend this Hotel for anyone wanting a holiday in this beautiful part of Pembrokeshire.

On June 14 we stayed for one night for my nephews engagement . We booked two rooms one which was room 6 . Which is the honeymoon suite with its own roof terrace with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside . Room 10
Which is a disability room on the ground floor with its own well equipped wet room. Both rooms were very clean and the decor modern and extremely comfortable
Beds. The service was first class . The food good and plentiful . We as a group would all stay at this wonderfully run small hotel and have no problem recommending to
Friends and family .

Due to a wedding taking place near Pembroke I booked 4 rooms for various members of family of all ages. A single, two doubles and a family room and we were all very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfy beds, service excellent. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening good service and everyone enjoyed their meal. Really good breakfast on both mornings. We had been told a few times on booking and when checking in that there might be some noise on the Saturday night as there was a wedding party in the hotel but it didn't disturb us all. Will definitely go back there as will all the others in our party.

I've visited the Plas Hyfryd many times over the years for various functions, dating back as far as 1981, but this was the first time that we have stayed there overnight. My family of four stayed in Room 7 - a family room which is billed as large enough to sleep 2 adults and one child. It's actually two inter connected rooms with an en suite bathroom. The first bedroom has a double bed and the second has two single beds. There is even a pull out bed to sleep a fifth person if we had needed to. I'm not quite sure why they advertise it online in this way, but the reality saved me from the expense of booking a second room. This room cost £120 for a one night stay and the price included full breakfast. My children are both teenagers so there was no way we didn't get value for money. We were at the hotel for a family funeral and we also needed to use one of the function rooms for an afternoon tea/reception. I must say that the staff, every single member without fail, were absolutely superb. They couldn't do enough for us and were extremely polite and thoughtful. The accommodation is definitely 3 star but the service lifts it up to a level above. I would definitely return and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a stay here to anyone. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful and they make a wonderful cup of coffee at the bar. The room was small but in order to keep cost down, this suited us perfectly for a one night stay. The bathroom was fine, and had everything we needed. Altogether - a great stay.

Plas Hyfryd is a beautiful small hotel with lovely rooms, excellent food and Fantastic staff!!! We actually got married in the hotel 5years ago and the day was made extra special by the small touches the hotel staff carried out. My husband, I and family visit the hotel every New Years Eve where the hotel put on a fabulous meal and entertainment, unfortunately last New Year we couldnt visit as our new baby girl was too small however my parents have now booked to have their Golden Wedding party there in July so we are looking forward to taking our new daughter there to meet the wonderful team. The hotel is in the small village which has some lovely boutiques so you can even pop in just for a coffee!

Room Tip: No pool and no children activities but beach not too far away!

I stayed at the Plas Hyfryd on the 27th of May. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food very good. After dinner I took a short walk into the town which is very nice too. The hotel has a large conference facility which would be ideal for business get togethers and meetings.
The menu is varied and local produce is used. I had the sea bass which came with seasonal fresh veg, very tasty.

Stayed here one friday night on way to catch ferry to Ireland. Nice village with a few shops and pubs. The hotel was in a good location and the food was fine. The room was very small and the lights kept going off during the evening not sure if bad connection but they did the same whilst having a meal downstairs. The internet was impossible to use on a Friday evening not sure if every guest was trying to use it at the same time but first thing Saturday morning it was fine. The staff were fine and very helpful.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Plas Hyfryd, a small privately owned 3 star hotel, is situated in Narberth, in the heart of Pembrokeshire and only a short distance from the seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot. Being central within the county, Hotel Plas Hyfryd is superbly located to take a peaceful 'away from it all' break. Little is known of the Hotel's history, Thomas Thomas, a retired surgeon, built 'Belmore House' and lived here until 1829. The house was designed by James Hughes, who was responsible for much of the development in Narberth. The name 'Plas Hyfryd' translates to the English 'lovely palace', and when you enter the front entrance and are greeted with the palatial staircase, it is easy to see why. We have fifteen en-suite rooms, including family rooms and executive suites and a stylish restaurant with an excellent menu by one of Pembrokeshire's most renowned chefs. Our function suite has all the modern facilities and comfort you would require whether you are planning a wedding, family celebration, business conference, team building event or training day. We hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you as a guest at the Hotel Plas Hyfryd. Our team are committed to a friendly, personal and professional service and look forward to extending a special Pembrokeshire welcome! ... more   less
