“Lovely except for the NT tea room and dog mess”

It's a lovely spot now that the A3 has gone underground. Our visit was spoilt by the NT Cafe forgetting our food order and leaving us sitting waiting, waiting... They did apologise and refund but it got the day off to a bad start. Food and drink quite expensive.
Lots of dogs and as usual the significant minority that cause problems due to irresponsible owners.
Surrounding roads still surprisingly busy.
Worth a visit but there are lots of other lovely parts of Surrey.

the natural beauty of the punch bowl was amazing, if you ever get the chance go and visit it. The area has various walks both long and short depending on how energetic you feel, i would suggest a short one and enjoy the beauty of the area.

Only 40 or so miles from London but, apart from the A3 traffic noise, one could be on a Scottish moorland, although thankfully no midges.

It's a beautiful place for walking and riding with some wonderful scenery and very few people, except around the visitor centre on summer weekends.

The Devil's Punchbowl is really quite something and, now that the old A3 road has been removed, it can be much better appreciated.

There are some lovely walks to be had and the Youth Hostel is in a spectacular setting at the foot of the Punchbowl.
