The hotel and restaurants are all very accessible and offer great variety from The Indian restaurant Nirvana with very reasonable prices to the expensive Lapin D,Or french and the traditional Japanese. One of my favourites is the Korean b b que but make sure you book or you will have to wait another night. There is a traditional Onsen to soak away the aches and pains and a full massage service. Breakfast is plentiful and mostly eaten in the Chinese restaurant ARLBERG.As for the skiing, take a map with you every day as the runs are poorly sign posted for English visitors. One minute you are on green and leap onto black without realising it. The enclosed Gondola and quad chair is excellent in bad weather but the chairs are all open and no safety bars, something I think needs sorting quickly especially if children are on them. This really made me edgy and would not be allowed here. The big eatery offers a warm lunch break with lots of variety and the Red House just below lift 2 also offers a good lunch if you don't want to come to the bottom. How to get there, 2 trains the first the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Morioko on the JR line ( bullet train ) about 2 hours then change to the Hanawa Line in Moroko and a one hour journey to Appi Kogen. The hotel shuttle meets you at the station.
