This traditional Japanese inn sits rights at the foot of the picturesque Amanohashidate land bridge . The hotel is right off the main shopping street on its side of Amanohashidate and is close to tourist shops and restaurants. I had the 8-course dinner at the hotel restaurant, which is definitely worth the money. The menu changes to fit the season, but all of the food seemed very fresh and much of it was local seafood. We also opted for the breakfast in the morning, which was different...but delicious. The hot spring bath downstairs was relaxing and offered some pretty great views of the land bridge from the outside bath.
Just a little warning, we were there during a pretty slow time for Amanohashidate and much of the shops and restaurants were closed before we even checked in. But the ryokan staff is more than helpful to let you know what is open. They are also more than happy to store your luggage, drop you off at the KTR Amanohashidate station and anything else. Non-Japanese-speaking tourists might have some trouble as no one really speaks any English. But if you are up for an adventure and maybe download a Japanese dictionary app, you will not regret a visit here. I would go back in a heartbeat.
