My group of High School Students stayed at Hotel Boyo for two nights in February, 2012. The hospitality was amazing, as the Kato family(owners) welcomed us with open arms. Eddie-kun and Obaachan, as they preferred to be called, greeted us in with hugs and smiles.
The rooms were very spacious and the futons comfortable the rooms being much larger than most Japanese-style hotels I've stayed at. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food (we ate a lunch and a breakfast there), was delicious. The bath was great, with cascading waterfalls and friendly guests.
The Kato family also have an amazing story to tell with the recent tsunami, as they were a central part of the emergency response and recovery, selflessly throwing open their doors to their neighbors in their time of need.
Come for the staff, come for the hospitality, come for the clean and spacious rooms, but whatever you do, stay at Boyo! Great experience!
