We stayed for one night as a stopover from visiting Setouchi art festival. Having stayed 5 yrs previously at Uno Slope inn, we were not disappointed with Max's newer venture.
We stayed in Kurosawa, which was more like a close up shot than the sweeping vistas that Kurosawa films are known for, but the amenities were good (washer dryer is essential in this hot weather!) and bathroom was spotless.
The cafe did a good salad and breakfast and the staff were great. The Inn is in a prime location for the ferries and the nearby hot springs (onsen) is recommended.
It was lovely to catch up with Max he is a great host!

From the clear information offered on their website, in English, about their accommodations to Tamano and the "art islands," to the friendly, mindful, informative staff, to the design and decor of the rooms and shared areas, Uno Port Inn has always delivered a quality experience in every visit, three years running.

Room tip: Some rooms have private bathrooms/shower in room; others have clean showers/bathrooms outside the room. In either case, clean and easy.

Small hotel right across the street from the port to go to the islands. The owner got to know our group while we checked in. Very interesting guy! Good food. Uno is a gem. Highly recommend! Thank you!

Location is fantastic with mere steps to ferry terminals and train station and bus stops plus lots of local art around. So handy for jumping off to art islands and/or getting to and from Okayama.

The staff was welcoming and very helpful. The lobby was chill and cozy and the patio was a treat.

The coffee is remarkable and the breakfast was very well prepared (especially nice on the patio).

Was just a quick one-night getaway (we live rather nearby) but made for a fun time. Note: The rooms are rather small but very functional and clean plus feature very nice sheets and pillows and Dr. Bronner's soap in the bathroom!

We stayed at Uno Port Inn as when visiting Naoshima. It is the perfect place to stay. Just in front of the port and near the train station. The room was amazing. We selected the one with the private bathroom outside, and although it is something different than what we are used it was great. Perfectly clean and comfy. They also have great coffee - we needed when left very early in the morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We particularly appreciated that they provide us with a timetable for the islands boats and also a list of restaurants around the hotel - we ate the best ramen ever. We definitely recommend it and we are hoping to come back one day soon.
