“Easy acces from ITM airport and Osaka, Kyoto”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

Arrived on the Osaka Monorail and changed to the underground (simply follow blue arrow painted onto the ground to transfer from Monorail station to the underground towards Esaka station). We made it, door to door, in around 40 minutes. Very handy. Other travellers have pointed out the usual features of the Japanese unit-fitted bathrooms, the option to lift up the bed and thus make some floor space. The fridge was a bit smelly (previous guests must have stocked it with fish :*)
Friendly staff. Amazing spa on the top floor open in two shifts, the early morning and then the early evening until late night shift, Think it doesn't close until 0130. Tried a 20 min shiatsu style massage (you keep your tee on). Great massage. Also had breakkie in the hotel, payable directly upon entering, 1000 yen a head. Small selection, but ok. We used Esaka as a base to discover Kyoto (easy access from the Shin-Osaka station only a couple of stops away) and Osaka itself. Friendly atmosphere and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore Osaka and the attractions of Kyoto.

I think this was extremely good value and the space was OK as they had beds that were liftable - very innovative. Worth the money just to see them! Also the public baths on the top floor were really good with sauna.

Room Tip: The baths were very good.

It's quite a hike away from Esaka station. If you're travelling by public transport coming from Shin Osaka, take the exit on the left side of the station towards the front of the train.
It's about 1100 meter walk.

The inside of the hotel looks a bit tired, it's about 20 year old and looks like it. It's clean though.
The room I had was shower only, which is absolutely OK as there is a large communal bath on the 11th floor (male and female separate)..

The rooms are small, clean, and the bed can be moved up electronically to create a workspace.
Wired internet only, Connecting a wireless router to the network stops your internet connection.

Only one of the staff speaks sufficient English, if you speak some Japanese, or try to, the staff will understand and they will do their very best to help you.

The downside of this hotel, besides it needing renovation, is that it's noisy. You can hear every word being said in the hallway. If you're a light sleeper like I am, on weekdays this means you can actually start sleeping at 1:45AM as the bath closes 1:30AM.
On Saturdays, you have less luck as people dribble in after partying.

Overall: Nice, clean, bit away from Subway, nice bath, tired looking, noisy hotel.

Room Tip: Don't book if you are a light sleeper.

Comfortable (but small!) rooms, relaxing onsen, and a very tasty breakfast in the hotel restaurant (千円). Very affordable for solo travel or split between traveling companions. Staff is extremely kind and speaks decent English. Great location on the Midosuji line - ten minutes out from Osaka station and Shin-Osaka for the shinkansen. Esaka is also a jumping locale, just a few blocks away from the hotel - restaurants, amusement, etc... Have stayed here twice and will make it my future base of operations for Osaka/Kobe/Nara trips.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the building get a view of the city. Rooms at the back are close to other buil...
