It's a strange place:
First - it's just next to main road and there is no pedestrian crossing around.
Second - to get there you have to take a taxi for around 1100 yen (one way) - remember to take a phone number (they are prepared) and when you want to go back you have to give number to gift shop lady and ask to call taxi (she is also used to it) - taxi comes in around 15-20 minutes
What you get:
First beautiful shrines.
Second a peaceful and breathtaking view. Just a simple tori around 20 meters from the shore, clear lake water and a distant terrain view of the other shore when the weather is perfect.
No tourists and even if there are any they are japanese.
If you don't like a little contemplation it may not be a place for you.
For any other it's a must in Japan.
