This is a fantastic place. The ryokan has its own onsen, you don't need to leave it at all to relax after a day of walking. They give you japanese robes which can be worn all over the ryokan. The dinner they prepare is an amazing experience of Japanese cuisine. The ryokan is also just a few steps away from the Yunomine public onsen, which is the gateway to one of the Kumano Kodo routes. The rooms itself are spotless and comfortable, staff extremely friendly, giving you all the necessary explanations about the onsen, ryokan and Japanese table etiquette, as well as providing information about the Kumano Kodo routes around. We got there by bus from Kii Tanabe, from just outside the tourist information. Please note the last bus for Yunomine leaves at 16.25! The ryokan's bus stop, Shimayunomine, is the one but last on the two-hours' route and you only need to walk up the road to arrive at the ryokan. I would definitely come back again!
