An incredibly warm welcome from Michelle, nothing was too much trouble. There is a bright and comfortable dining/breakfast room and, arriving as we did at around 17.00, she immediately offered us pots of tea and coffee with cake/biscuits. All very hospitable. She also made an excellent breakfast. The building is extremely old and you inevitably suffer with the quirks of it being converted into a guest house. Our bathroom had one of the smallest showers I've ever seen, my husband wasn't able to fit in it but it was comfortable otherwise. The other rooms taken by our party were more spacious. The main challenge of stayng here is that the building is on a very busy junction and quite a lot (all?) of the rooms face the road, so if you are a light sleeper you aren't going to get a good night's rest. I suggest that it's worth enquiring if they have anything at the back of the building. It's very conveniently situated opposite a great pub (The George) which also has a dining room if you want a more elaborate menu, although we have eaten in the bar once before and that was really good too. It's probably midway between Longleat and Bath so very good for the tourist trail.
