To echo what someone else has put, Northampton Buddies in town is great, we were left less than impressed by the one in Milton Keynes.

We went here on the recommendation of a couple of friends and wish we hadn't, they raved about the food and service and we were looking forward to the meal. I love ribs and will always order them if they are on the menu, I found them to be very chewy and not fall off the bone. The other half had the steak sandwich that was tough & bland, it was a bit of badly cooked steak between 2 bits of white hovis bread, not like any other steak sandwich I’ve ever seen before. The little one had a hot dog and it was horrid, she is normally safe with that but left most of it, she didn’t even wait to try the puddings!

The other thing I wasn't impressed with was the price. 3 drinks, milkshake, fruit juice & small bottle of beer + 2 mains + 1 kids meal = £37 a little expensive, also considering we left most of it a complete waste of money.

Not trying to me completely negative about it, staff were friendly enough, but would never return to this one.

We have been there a few times now. Always book first due to being turned away twice due to volume of clients. New York Breakfast was brilliant, Fat Boy burger just melted in the mouth. Daughter eats off the kids menu and loves it. She always finishes her plate. The chocolate milk shake was gorgeous. Last time out we had a bottle of house red. For £12 it was great value and a good taste.
We will all be back soon.

We had a family meal here for our granddaughters birthday and we were very impressed. The place was very busy and the waiting staff were doing a great job looking after all the tables. We had the 2 course meal deal for £10 and it was very nice. Prawn cocktail and Chilli Cup for our starters and then we had Buddies Barbecue which was an extra £1.50 but was worth every penny. Chicken, Ribs, Sausage, Coleslaw or beans, and a large bowl of chips all cooked to perfection. The drinks were reasonable and we will definitely make a return visit next time we are in the area. I would recommend you book a table especially at the weekend as we went on a Saturday afternoon and luckily we booked as we saw them turn people away as they were full and people were still queuing up for a table so that says it all really. I recommend this restaurant for a good value meal with family or friends celebrating birthdays etc.

We have been here a few times now since it opened in May this year. We have never had a bad meal or poor customer service. Due to the vast choice on the menu, it is a good idea to have a look at the menu online first (I have it saved on my phone). Portions are huge, but you can always take a doggy bag home. The steak always comes as ordered (i like medium rare). Please book beforehand to avoid being turned away at the door and make sure you try a breakfast too ;-)

Been to the original one in Northampton town - brillant. This one just ok. Staff nice and frendly, service fairly quick, food ok - jam rollypoly on menu not very American ! And don't serve root beer !
No atmosphere - just tables built into the square room that was once a little chef and decorated walls with an american theme. Wouldn't rush back. Surprised how busy it always seems.
