“Arguably my favorite hotel in the country”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2012

I'm Turkish and have stayed at Manastir twice, lastly in September 2012. It is the most majestic hotel in Alacati and one of the most enchanting hotels in the country. The peace and quite that can be found in this hotel (built over the ruins of an old orthodox monastery) is in my opinion unparallelled in the town. The handsome pool almost entirely occupies the hotel's courtyard and you could literally spend days by its side doing nothing. The breakfast is one of the highlights of the hotel and so is the service which is how it should be, tailored to every customer's needs. I've stayed in both the standard rooms and the suites simply have an extra room with an extra double bed. So it's more space as opposed to anything else. The hotel is walking distance to Alacati's "historic centre" and all the restaurants, shops and bars. The beaches are 3km away and very easily accessible from the hotel.

Manastir gets it right for so many reasons. its simple almost monotonous entrance hides a beautiful, understated yet complex hotel.

The hotel is located close to everything, yet once you are inside you feel you are a world apart from everyone and everything.

The centrepiece is the swimming pool, which is surrounded by the rooms. The rooms are elegant and crisply designed in white and earth colours. To the side, tucked away, is the canteen-style restaurant that serves nothing but organic and fresh produce. While the breakfast is excellent, I cannot say the same about the a la carte menu. We ordered sandwiches and salads and they were average. So this is not a hotel for dining. It is a hotel for those seeking to escape into a world of serenity where the staff is friendly, helpful and relaxed, and the surroundings encourage you to retreat from the world for a bit.

My spouse and I have now stayed there twice - and we would stay there many more times.

Alaçatı is my turf, and Manastır is the best of Alaçatı.... Inspired by the monastery which now serves as the resturant of the hotel, the remaining buildings were built to form Hotel Manastır... Despite its proximity to the main street Alaçatı craze, it will amaze you how quiet it is inside the premises. Lovely two storey stone buildings honoring the local Alaçatı architecture.... The serene decoration of the rooms is truly relaxing.... And should you prefer, offers a nice almost private pool in the middle of the grounds.... We only had their breakfast which was average. A local pastry or delicacy was offered every day, nice touch. The rest was basic breakfast.... Staff, we didn't interact much, they were there when needed, and I think that's good enough...

Room Tip: All the rooms are on the periphery surrounding the pool, followingly all rooms have pool views... No...

The rooms are new, bright, clean and very spacious. The breakfast is delicious but beware of additional charges. The staff are friendly but most have no english.

I've spent 5 days/4 nights at Manastir Hotel this Sep & I've totally enjoyed it - Rooms are very spacious, with beautiful stone walls and high ceiling. I loved the simplicity of the room decoration with white cotton curtains and sofa... and that remarkable pool which you can not resist at all... very close just a walking distance to Alacati main street which is full of restaurants, bars and shops. The most important aspect was the helpful personnel with smiling faces. Thank you all... hope to see you next year :)

Very pretty, clean. Staff was very helpful. Be sure to bring a Turkish-English dictionary if you don't speak Turkish. Also, be forewarned that the beach is not within walking distance, although this is the case for almost all hotels in Alacati. The trade-off is that there are many nice shops and good restaurants within a short walk of the hotel.
