We travel a great deal and after our three-week tour of Turkey (with Overseas Adventure Travel, which we also highly recommend), we wanted two rest days before flying back to the U.S. We chose Alacti because of a US Vogue article and the Alura Hotel because of Trip Advisor reviews.
The hotel is small and essentially brand new (4 years old) and maintained extremely well. Ipek built the hotel on a parcel about 50 meters from the center of Alacati on land previously used by her father to grow wine grapes.
The rooms were fresh and tastefully decorated. The location is excellent as it is just a short walk to Alacati's main street, which happens to be a pedestrian walkway loaded with restaurants and shops.
The small staff was attentive, engaging and we were made to feel like family. Erkan (sp?) even took me on his Vespa to the local ATM and, because a cab would take too long to get back for dinner, picked us up in his car even though he had already left work. Now that's friendly service.
My wife took a cooking lesson and we had a wonderful dinner at the hotel, goat stew accompanied by Ipek's father's wine.
If we return to Alacati, we would definitely stay with our friends at the Alura Hotel.More
