Ipek and her team are a winning combination.

Alura could sell itself - very pretty, quiet and peaceful, lush surroundings - and yet only a few minutes from boutique shops sited in cobbled winding lanes, and a variety of excellent restaurants. The bedrooms are spacious, breezy and spotlessly clean - attention to detail says it all. A missing light bulb, once reported, was replaced immediately. The four-poster bed, hung with muslin draperies, was large and comfortable, the towels dazzlingly white and plush, and the space and openness, with two sets of French windows to open at either end of the room, is refreshing.

From the moment we arrived, with welcome smiles from Ipek and Erkan, and an even more welcome drink, we felt at home. The outdoor patio area is a delight, covered with a vine-laden trellis and soft divan benches. Shades of blue are everywhere, echoing the blue of the swimming pool further down the garden. The garden is small, secluded, and bursting with greenery and flowers. Ask Erkan for the special ingredient which he puts in some of his cocktails!

Ipek's choice of music and ours coincided, which was fortunate! The breakfasts are amazing, with local produce such as olives from their back garden. Her cook has such a light hand with pastry that it hardly touches the lips - and with a variety of recipes so that no one day is the same.

Nothing is too much trouble. From ideas on where to visit and roam, to suggestions for the best beaches (this changes with the wind direction), places to eat (and I reinforce an earlier suggestion that a visit to Noni's is an excellent idea) - Ipek and her team cope with it efficiently, pleasantly, and always with a smile. A slight malfunction with the air conditioning resulted in a midnight visit from Erkan (off duty) to fix it!

As I said to Ipek at our departure - we arrived as guests, and left as friends, and you cannot ask for more than that. Do go.

Room Tip: We had the Parliament room - large, light and airy, overlooking pool and garden.

Alura's small villa is set a 3 minute walk from the quaint Alacati's main street, and 2 minutes from its famous Saturday market. The house is new and shining clean; and taken care of in every small detail. Everything is chosen with taste: from the personalized slippers to the fish-shaped key holder. I particularly recommend the Azure room, upstairs, and the one immediately beside it - both very airy and bright - with a reading corner in the bow window. Here, looking on to the blue skies and the typical houses' rooftops, you will feel immersed in the relaxing country-side. The internal garden is peaceful and green, and it has a small pool which is long enough to allow for a few strokes, too. The breakfast is a real highlight, with all the turkish mezes and delicious jams. The chef is a local woman, who cooks tasty home made food for you! All the staff is extremely kind, with a particular note to the beautiful woman who owns it and will make your day with her smiles, her availability and her tailored service!

is it home?
No ,it's better then home!
From the moment you enter the doors, you have the feeling that you are home!
But ! the care about you,the listen to you, the spoil you, the help you,....
Do you want anything more?
oh yes.....
Beautiful decorated rooms ,great swimming pool, nice little garden, great healthy drinks and snacks!
And most of all is the little patio where you have the possibility to meet always very nice Guests!
Some of them became very good friends!
a very good suggestion?:
Visit Noni's house restaurant ,located 5 km outside Alacati , in a beautiful environment between the vineyards of Alacati ,with great sunset and fantastic food for a incredible price!
Selin Solmazer is doing a great job there!
Ask Ipek about it !

I've had a wonderful time at Alura in Alacati. The hotel is everything one can ask for: very clean, beautifully decorated, quiet, and so welcoming. The staff are amazing, always taking care of their guests and paying attention to all details that make one's holiday perfect. From the delicious food, to the gorgeous swimming pool and their great taste in music, there's nothing I can think of that I haven't enjoyed during my stay at Alura. This is a place I will definitely come back to.

If you are looking for a relaxing family holiday then look no further! we have rarely had such personal service when travelling with our 2 children aged 3 and 1. nothing was too much trouble for Ipek and her team: our every whim was attended to before we had even asked and every detail taken care of. The hotel is more like staying in a wonderful house without any of the hassle of cooking or having to think about anything. Alacati is a find - we almost don't want to share it with too many people so its remains the idyll that it is. we could not recommend Alura more highly
