I contacted the 'Lady of the house' having seen the good reviews on tripadvisor; and from first to last contact, this was a marvellous experience. We stayed one night and couldn't ask for more in the way of hospitality. If passing thru the area and need a resting place be assured of a good one!

we stayed 2 nites in a nice double bed room, just newly attired. The reception of Leontine was very warm, and very considerate with regards to our hiker needs.
When disaster struck; we lost our car keys, I have never experienced such a support from anyone owning an inn. Leontine made us feel as if she had lost the keys herself, and got out of her way to search for solutions and offering us help. (we did find them at the end)
tip: next door pub is fantastic on Thursdays with sing/song and all that, but make sure you stay away from the whiskey ;-)

Breakfast was a feast: Scrambled eggs & salmon were freshly prepared for us!

We found the Dufferin Coaching Inn mentioned in a very old Lonely Planet and decided to try our luck in the small town of Killyleagh after a long day of travel and hiking in the Mournes. Leontine was extremely welcoming and professional and we found the guesthouse charming. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed, breakfast was delicious and very well presented and when I lost my keys after too much singing the previous night in the Dufferin Arms pub next door ... so many people turned up to help find them it was great. There were two of us, we had a lovely time and would recommend it highly.

3rd time of staying at the dufferin over a 4 year period and it is always a pleasure to stay there, it is spotlessly clean with bed linen and towels changed daily (option is yours) great choice of breakfast menu i recommend the ulster fry or scrambled egg served with fresh smoked salmon, the owner / manager leontine is very warm and welcoming always carries a smile for everyone, and theres no need to travel miles or walk distances for good food and drinks as right next door is the dufferin arms where the food is second to none with a wide choice and the liquid refreshments are first class, will be going back hopefully for a few years to come.

We were very impressed with the high level of service and cuisine. We were wedding guests and knew that the bride and groom would be staying here. If it is good enough for them we thought, it must be a good place to stay. This proved to be correct and we would not hesitate to return. We were given a beautiful twin bedded room with a large en suite bathroom. The hotel is in the main street of the enchanting village of Killyleagh.

Absolutely GORGEOUS hotel. Spacious and clean bedrooms and extra tasty breakfasts in the morning with extra friendly service. The town is quiet but friendly with some nice pubs especially the Dufferin Arms next door. There are also some lovely walks in the area and i wouldn't hesitate to go back if the opportunity arose. It felt just like home and i was able to relax and enjoy myself the whole time we were there. Thank you Leontine, Tiggy, Winston and everyone else we had the pleasure to meet :-) Suzie and Colin!

What a great place to stay very friendly and the breakfast is to die for!!! The inn next door serves fabulous food as well. We were made to feel welcome straight away and the owner couldn't do enough for us.

The rooms were warm and comfortable with lovely 4 poster beds. I would recommend to anyone.
