From the moment you are welcomed at the door of the Dufferin by your hostess Leontine all the stresses and turmoil of the outside world stay firmly behind you. A friendliness and warmth pervade this quaint Inn that instantly makes you feel like a member of Leontine's family rather than a guest paying for a hotel room.
After checking in at a rather nice mahogany table in the sitting room beside a blazing fire rather than the more usual hotel desk, Leontine takes the time to show you to your room and ensures that you want for nothing.
On our visit we were a family of four with two sons (14 & 10). Leontine was interested in chatting with the kids as well as the adults and was informative to all about the attractions of Killyleagh and its environs. After inquiring about local eateries Leontine recommended the Dufferin Arms which is a pub located conveniently next door..! She also offered to organize a Taxi if we wanted to travel further afield. The food and Craic in the Dufferin Arms have to be sampled to be fully appreciated.
Our hostess was most helpful in the morning by directing us around the beautiful village of Killeleagh and allowed us to take Tiggy (her dog) for a walk to the shore of Strangford Lough which is situated at the end of the Main Street. This walk was all the more necessary to counteract the effects of the most wonderful Ulster Fry that was expertly cooked by her right hand man Frank. Between Leontine and Frank they have a great knowledge of Northern Ireland and can recommend all types of activities from shopping to sightseeing to local restaurants and landmarks.
All of our family enjoyed our stay at the Dufferin even though we had visited before, and we most certainly will visit again. This is not just a "place to stay", it is Leontine's home and it is she that makes it so wonderful.

Our stay at the Dufferin Coaching Inn was wonderful and provided us with a superb base for our stay in N.I. Leontine was a wonderful hostess and we were treated lke royalty; our room was lovely, the bed so comfortable, the bathroom spacious and the breakfasts were out of this world! We returned home feelng relaxed and with our "batteries re-charged". Thank you for making our first visit to N.I. so special.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on our first trip to N I and Leontine's hospitality and friendliness made it. Great place to stay, comfortable and cosy, and she even sorted out the weather for us! Loved it, can't wait to get back.

The Dufferin Coaching Inn would put most hotels to shame for its warm & welcoming charm. Leontine is a wonderful host, the rooms are lovely and clean, and the breakfasts are superb. Thank you for an unforgettable stay in beautiful Killyleagh.

Leontine the very friendly owner welcomed us like old friends, into her lovely cosy drawing room, before showing me to my room. We looked out onto a very pictureqque high street just a stones through from the stunningly beautiful Strangford Lough at one end and a chateau-style castle at the other end of the picturesque high street - just 17 miles from Belfast. My room was tastefully decorated and spotless as if no-one had ever stayed in it before. A lovely lively pub next door packed witih locals provided a great nights entertainment. My breakfast, cooked by Frank, Leontine's aide-de-camp, was delicious, and we were delighted that he joined us for a cuppa! I like least - that I can't live there! I like best - I know I can rely on it and I'll always have a lovely time there. Its a home from home.
