The Inn was a delight w ith friendly staff catering to all your needs. A comfy, welcoming bed, in a beautiful room made the stay enjoyable. The pub served delicious food and the breakfast was just right. The view from outside of the castle and sea was lovely. the meeting room we used was basically the front room, but we were left to our work, being disturbed only by tea, coffee and homemade cakes!

After a short stay at the Dufferin Coaching Inn in Killyleagh, we're rested and ready to head back to work.
Its just the perfect place for a weekend ( or longer ) break to recharge the batteries.
On check-in, we were warmly welcomed and escorted around the beautiful building and all the facilities explained. The Inn is in a building which used to house a Bank. With beautiful high ceilings, tall shuttered windows, heavy wooden doors and brass door handles this takes you back to a slower, more measured era. The furnishings are deep and comfortable with lovely beds and quilts. Yet, in the modern bath and shower, you'll be spoiled with fresh soft towels and lovely complimentary toiletries and there's no shortage of hot water for a long lazy soak to read a few pages of a novel. Breakfast choices are wide and is at a time of your choice, such a lovely option to choose when and what you want for the first feast of the day. We think that the traditional Dufferin Coaching Inn Fry is a great way to start the day, delicious and piping hot too.
Parking is either on street or at a public car park to the rear of the premises, lots of spaces and not a clamper or traffic warden in sight.
Yes, we'll be back and having told the rest of the family, they may well try it too.
Oh yes, the webite is well worth a visit and its very helpfull too.

Wonderful relaxing guest house and stunning surrounding countryside.Inside this beautiful guest house I found a warm and friendly welcome .There was a roaring fire in a large sittingroom and the entire decor was quaint country chic .The bedroom was restful with plush drapes and shutters on the windows .Breakfast was a feast of local produce ,fresh and ample portions. I look forward to a return stay and feel very rested after my mini break.

From the moment you are welcomed at the door of the Dufferin by your hostess Leontine all the stresses and turmoil of the outside world stay firmly behind you. A friendliness and warmth pervade this quaint Inn that instantly makes you feel like a member of Leontine's family rather than a guest paying for a hotel room.
After checking in at a rather nice mahogany table in the sitting room beside a blazing fire rather than the more usual hotel desk, Leontine takes the time to show you to your room and ensures that you want for nothing.
On our visit we were a family of four with two sons (14 & 10). Leontine was interested in chatting with the kids as well as the adults and was informative to all about the attractions of Killyleagh and its environs. After inquiring about local eateries Leontine recommended the Dufferin Arms which is a pub located conveniently next door..! She also offered to organize a Taxi if we wanted to travel further afield. The food and Craic in the Dufferin Arms have to be sampled to be fully appreciated.
Our hostess was most helpful in the morning by directing us around the beautiful village of Killeleagh and allowed us to take Tiggy (her dog) for a walk to the shore of Strangford Lough which is situated at the end of the Main Street. This walk was all the more necessary to counteract the effects of the most wonderful Ulster Fry that was expertly cooked by her right hand man Frank. Between Leontine and Frank they have a great knowledge of Northern Ireland and can recommend all types of activities from shopping to sightseeing to local restaurants and landmarks.
All of our family enjoyed our stay at the Dufferin even though we had visited before, and we most certainly will visit again. This is not just a "place to stay", it is Leontine's home and it is she that makes it so wonderful.
