“Good overnight stop”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Arriving through trading estate might be a little off-putting, but don't be. Very pleasant location beside Seine locks (some large barges passed by). Easy walk along the riverside with the dog. Comfortable overnight stop with very good food - all inexpensive

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Seine

Wonderfully intriguing location, on the Seine towpath right by 4 locks as the name implies. Don't let the industrial estate approach put you off. Very friendly and welcoming proprietor, waitress and dog. Most accommodating to our dogs. Only the agile should take a room on the top floor. The proprietor did propose a ground floor room when he saw our geriatric dog; we should have taken this, but my husband was greedy for the top floor view. Compact but clean and warm rooms with everything necessary. Beds are long, but could be wider. Good food from an interesting menu, eg jugged hare.

Room Tip: Young people will enjoy the view up two steep narrow spiral staircases. The aged and infirm should...

We chanced stopping here wanting a room for the night. It was just off the main road. It had a pool and sun area at the back. Sadly those on duty for the evening did. Not speak e gloss but we managed to make ourselves understood. The room was small and tidy. It was adequate for what we wanted so no problem there as it was getting late in the day. There were numerous menus which was a little confusing and dinner was good. We did not stop for breakfast as we left to co tinge our journey home. As we paid the night before, we just left our key on reception and went. Our sleep was okay despite being near the main road,

They could make more of what they offer but that is my personal view.

We took two rooms here the night before visiting Monet's house and garden at Giverny. It is ideally located to get there early before the crowds arrive.
The hotel is simple and clean, the restaurant is lovely and we really enjoyed eating dinner on the terrace watching the boats going through the locks on the Seine alongside us.
One of our party was on crutches, and as soon as the owner saw her, he changed her room to a ground floor one for easy access. We had the top floor room, which has a great view, but with no lift it would have been out of the question for our friend.

Room Tip: Rooms 6 and 7 are on the top floor and have a nice view.

We stayed for just one night and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is spotlessly clean and our room had everything a guest could ask for - separate loo and bathroom, huge comfortable bed and free wifi.

Our meal was very good served by a lovely waitress. Plenty of parking.

Nice little ordinary hotel alongside the Seine River's 4 locks- Place is clean, not too many tourists on a late June sunday afternoon, we hoped to get a good meal- NO, the place is closed on Sunday nights, though mid afternoon there were still people finishing their coffee.
We had to go to Gaillon, the next main town, where all restaurants were closed too. Hurrah for MacDonalds [McDo] which was doing brisk business, but with quality NOT what we are used to in US. And the price for a regular meal was 7 Euros = over $10 ! way too much to pay for a non-delicacy- I would have rather have a baguette sandwich, but no "boulangerie" was open at 7pm-
