We were really impressed with Pete and his team. We booked our flight a couple of years ago, however, due to my husband's ill health, we were unable to take the first flight booked. Pete, cancelled the flight at cost to himself, finally getting us up in the air at the beginning of this season. The wait was worth it, as the whole experience is great fun; from helping with set up to the flight itself which was breathtaking. We were impressed with the level of planning which goes into ballooning including wind speeds, understanding and pre-scoping out landing spots, plus negotiating with local farmers re. landing! The flight was so relaxing thanks to our faith in Pete and team. It was a perfect evening, an experience not to be missed. Thanks Pete - we really appreciate it! Siobhan & Gavin Barry

On Wednesday 21st May at Kinross, after a few cancellations due to bad weather, we took off on our first ever hot air balloon flight. It was a truly wonderful experience from helping with setting up the balloon to packing it away at the end. Being involved really added to the fun.. The flight itself was a revelation , drifting along at a height that varied from a few feet to 3000 feet, looking at the wildlife ( roe deer, hares, pheasants and a buzzard) below together with farming livestock "Scotland's Serengeti"! The weather was superb with low evening light casting beautiful shadows over the landscape of Fife and Kinross, together with distant views to the Central Belt and north to the Cairngorms. After about an hour in the air Pete had to find a grass field to land, and did so with great skill amidst crops, roads, villages and power lines! After packing up we all celebrated with a glass of Champagne. A great treat all round, well worth the minor hassle of weather delays. Don't miss it!

Many thanks for taking the time to write that lovely review. We were indeed spoilt for Kinrosshire and Fife scenery, wildlife and weather that evening.

My wife and I enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end, and were impressed by the skill required to find and expedite a suitable landing location. There are several factors to take into account, most of those being beyond the pilot's control. For us, a lot of the enjoyment came from witnessing and assisting with the inflation and packing of the balloon.
Many thanks to Peter and his driver - sorry, forgot the name.
I would certainly recommend it to anyone who fancied something different and is prepared to wait for the right conditions.

After a few cancelled bookings last year due to unsuitable weather, we got our long awaited balloon flight from Linden Hall, Northumberland on Friday 18th April. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and well worth waiting for. We were very lucky as the weather was perfect, and we flew right over our house on two occasions. I had been bought this experience as a birthday present as I had always wanted to experience a balloon flight - but this was even better than I had expected. Thanks a lot Pete!

We decided to go ballooning with Alba having been let down repeatedly by another ballooning company (a big, red ballooning company...3 guesses). It was refreshing to experience the personal, friendly approach that Pete provided right from start of the booking process, to the glass of champagne at the end of the flight.
We loved every moment of the experience, and were particularly lucky that this was Alba's 1000th flight, so it was even more special! Although I had butterflies in my stomach as we first floated off, Pete made us all feel completely at ease and very safe; his wealth of experience is clear and reassuring. We flew over Peebles, and landed near the Leadburn Inn - the scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and Pete's extensive knowledge of the local surroundings made it very interesting.
The icing on the cake was the champagne toast at the end of the flight. All in all, I think it was one of the most memorable and special experiences of our lives, only surpassed of course by our wedding and the arrival of our little ones!! Anyone who is swithering about booking a flight - I would say GO FOR IT, you will not regret it! And go for Alba, for a local, friendly, experienced, family-run company. We can't wait to fly with Alba again!
