“Old Timey”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

The Bakery is housed in an old Outfitters store. Some of the furniture is still there, along with old photos and the like. We cycled there from the ferry, it's a short ride.
This bakery is a must do and go hungry. There are all kinds of sandwiches, wraps, pies, panninis etc. The coffee was excellent, even the 'self serve' which is on an honor system it seems, $1 for a refill. All the baked goods are home-made and bread and cookies are for sale. They also have a grocery selling meats and veggies. It was bustling when we were there as a cycling group came and went in a flash. There is plenty of seating but mainly outside. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The building is utilized by others. There is a skateboard shop on the top floor, a gift shop in the basement (local artisans) and a boat builder at the back.

“a good old days”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

we were recommended to stop at this place and boy were we glad that we didn't miss it! You actually can't miss it if you're driving along the bay :) Old old place, magic smells of fresh bread and local goodies, beautiful old mismatched dishes that you bring to the counter after you're done, hardy home made meal, authentic decorations from the area... It was a highlight of our anniversary trip!

“Must stop if you're in the area”
Reviewed 17 January 2014

It's a long drive, but if you're heading for the beautiful beaches near Bridgewater you should stop at the Lahave Baker for some great food. Fresh, home made pizza, sammiches and other lunch choices, amazing drink options, super fantastic desserts, homemade breads to go, bags of granola that are so much better than store bought, and even a little shop you can browse and see the handy work of local artists and craftsmen.

We had our lunch outside at a little bistro table with a nice seaside view. Very friendly, fast service, too.

“Yummy baked goods.”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

Right on the water. A popular stopping of place for coffee, pastries and/or lunch. The home made pastries are to die for, and there is lots more of terrific home made casual food. Pricing is a little expensive.

Seating is very crammed and limited. There is outside seating for the hardy.

The bakery is also a gift store, and there is a large gift store at the rear of the building that sells a lot of local crafts.

Come in summer, grab a coffee and a pie, and sit on the dock and watch life sail by.

“This place is a must stop!”
Reviewed 7 October 2013 via mobile

I love everything about this place, the building with all it's history, the baked goods and treats, the individual Greek pizzas, the craft co-op in the back. I always stop here when coming across on the LaHave River cable ferry.
