We had a lovely stay at Raven House Farm. It housed 16 adults and 3 kids very comfortably. The house has different sections, which is quite handy if some people need to sleep whilst others are being noisy. The conservatory in particular is a lovely space to spend time during the day - and ditto the living room in the evening. Tibshelf itself is a nice little village with some fantastic walks nearby. Highly recommended!
The cottage was freezing when we arrived and we spent the first evening wearing coats. The conservatory couldn't be used as we'd had to move the conservatory heater to a freezing bedroom as the bedroom storage heater was broken. Of the 3 showers, one leaks into the hallway (we were told this had been a problem for a long time), one you have to hold the shower head and the temperature randomly changes from hot to cold, one is fine. The property needs new flooring throughout- the carpets are sticky and the kitchen and bathrooms are carpeted. Various things were held together with masking tape. The lower bunk bed was broken. One of the double rooms is really only suitable for a single bed. Once we had got used to the house we had a good time. The Crown pub was obviously not used to 18 people turning up at once but the staff were friendly and the food was fresh, tasty and very good value.
