We had a five-course dinner at the Tigh na Sgiath which was really excellent and delicious. You get real good and local products for a very good price.
You also have to try the apple strudel which really tastes like in Austria and drink some wine from the excellent wine selection.
We would really recommend Tigh na Sgiath to everyone who wants to try real scottish dishes. After the dinner you can take your digestif and your coffee in a really atmospheric lounge and watch red squirrels, birds and sometimes little rabbits in the garden.

Thanks a lot for this beautiful evening in your hotel!

We stayed here for 3 nights with our daughters and a friend of theirs to go to a wedding. From start to finish the hotel was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for Ian and Elaine, who are very relaxing hosts. The hotel is very peaceful, with comfortable sitting areas, and the nicest and best equipped bedrooms I have ever encountered.Everything had been well thought out, and was immaculate. Also the best breakfasts! This place is an absolute joy, and cannot be rated highly enough. And yes, the red squrrels are wonderful too! We would love to go there again, and, from chatting to people who stayed elsewhere, it is clearly by far the best choice for the area.

Tigh na Sgiath is a lovely homely hotel with fantastic personal service.

We stayed for two nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and loved every minute of our stay, the food was home made and delicious, the bed was comfortable, the bedroom was light spacious with everything in you'll need and bathroom had the biggest bath I had ever seen.

I can't recommend this hotel enough, my husband and I will be back every year (weather depending)

Room Tip: We stayed in the Ballindalloch room

We stayed at Tigh na Sgiath at the end of May and enjoyed a wonderful stay. This is a lovely small country house hotel still family owned and operted. Its great to come back to the warm and inviting atmosphere after a day out in the countryside. The comfortable rooms strike just the right balance between traditional and modern with lovely traditional furnishings and decorations but modern amentities. Our host was very helpful. We've stayed in several small country house hotels in the UK and you can really tell the difference when the owner is on the premises versus those owned by larger groups! You really felt like you were a guest in someones private home. We hope to return for another visit.

We stayed here this weekend and are happy to report a great hotel ith great food and a very nice host.

On arrival we were greeted with a complementary glass of whisky whilst we filled in the guest registration form. The we were shown to our room.
Our room was on the first floor and was well appointed with a flat screen tv and the usual hotel standards of tea and coffee.

We ordered our dinner upon arrival and it was served at 7pm, starting with canapés in the front room, we moved though to the dining room. Everything was well cooked and well presented.

Breakfast was served in the breakfast room with porridge offered to start and followed by a full Scottish. Again this was well cooked and well presented.

All in all it was a great stay and we will be returning.

Just back from a stay in this hotel which we came across by chance on the internet. It is such a beautiful place, full of character and history and really we loved it. The host, Iain, made us feel very welcome right from the start and was very attentive while at the same time managing that fine balance of leaving you to enjoy the hotel, at the same time. His very generous upgrade to a superior room, as he had had a cancellation, was very much appreciated, as he did this at no extra cost. Without asking for it, your every need is catered for. We loved the details which were thoughtful and really added to our enjoyment. The room was beautifully furnished and the decor was lovely. Added touches such as fruit, bathrobes and water were beyond our expectations.

We opted to stay for dinner and found it to be excellent, as did a German couple dining next to us, and also a very discerning gentleman and his wife who were there at the time. The menu was varied and our food, which was very well presented indeed was absolutely delicious. Coffee in the drawing room was a lovely way to end the meal.

The breakfast was also very good indeed, served piping hot and was perfectly cooked. The whole place is an absolute find. We will make sure we return and highly recommend this hidden gem.
