Food, service and price are fantastic. This is by far the nicest restaurant anywhere in this area. A must for a special Sunday lunch or any celebration.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 22 February 2010

New chef from 2009 (not the burnt veg one). All the meats were very well presented and prepared. The set evening menu (£28) is probably the best value, since the card is pretty expensive. Cheeses local and ok, deserts mixed (3 out of 4 good). Coffee (espresso) excellent as were petit fours. Service a little mixed due to language problems. Large wine list with a wide price range. General atmosphere is intimate.

“5* Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed 3 May 2009

4 of had sunday lunch here today 3rd May. 3 couses plus coffee etc for £19.95. A wonderful choice of at least 6 different starters , main courses and sweet. Firstly service excellent, the food was perfect, 2 of us had the lamb for main course and 2 had beef, one beef very rare and the other med to well and both cooked perfectly. Add this to excellent starters and exquisite sweets abottle of Rose and a round of drinks beforehand £25 a head all in. Not rushed at all. We are travelled eaters at high quality restaurants and we will return.

“Great steak - stingy service”
Reviewed 8 February 2009

First time at the restaurant both myself and my wife opted for the fillet steak which at £25.50 was not cheap! However, it was the best fillet steak I have eaten so you get what you pay for. Then it came time for desserts and this is where things went awry. The menu states you need to allow 20 minutes for your dessert to be prepared as they are all done individually - fair enough. However, when the dessert was served 20 minutes later the waiter brought the wrong dessert for me and the correct one for my wife. So I had to wait a total of 40 minutes for my dessert and eat on my own. The waiter apologised but nothing was knocked off the very expensive bill for their mistake - not even the offer of a free coffee. This left a bad taste for me.

“Unbelievably rude manager”
Reviewed 23 January 2009

We had to leave this restaurant because the manager was so unbelieveably rude to us. Why? Because we dared to complain that the food was burnt. The roasted veg was blackened where it had been burnt in the roasting pan, and the rest of the meal was tainted with the acrid burnt taste - he said it was 'caramelised' and 'no one else had complained'. What a joke - whoever was in the kitchen made a real mess of the food and the manager decided to serve it and make out it was fit for consumption. Absolutely shocking - they obviously think their customers are idiots! I'll never set foot in the place again.
