“First rate accommodation and would highly recommend”
Reviewed 30 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

This was an outstanding rental and went far beyond my expectations, in almost every way provided a base for the perfect English holiday. From a wood burning stove, a shower that works perfectly. The perfect let as far as we were concerned. The accommodation gave a real sense of history partly due to its own rooms and furnishing style but also due to its proximity to Shakespeare's past. I have nothing but praise for the accomodation and its owners.

“Unforgettable accommodation in idyllic village setting”
Reviewed 6 August 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We had been looking forward to our week long stay in the cottage for six months and our high expectations were not dashed when we pulled into the driveway. Coming from Australia it is a great novelty to stay in such an old building and although it is compact it "ticked all the boxes". It has a wonderful inglenook fireplace which kept the whole cottage warm and was lovely to sit in front of, after a big day of sightseeing. The cottage is a wonderful combination of very old architecture and very modern conveniences. As much as I love the romance of old houses, I also like modern kitchens and bathroom facilities. There is nothing that I can think of that this cottage is missing, except perhaps a clothes drier if the weather is inclement but other than that it's perfect. The owners provided a very welcome basket of necessities bread, milk etc to get us started as well as a bottle of wine - not necessary but greatly appreciated. The cottage is set in a whisper quiet village only a short drive from Stratford upon Avon which can be quite hectic ie a great place to visit but we were glad we weren't staying there. The village has a general store which has a wide range of provisions and there are two pubs that provide meals. There are also several dining options within a short drive of the village. If you have ever wanted a taste of english village life then stay at Harpe Cottage. The only disappointment you might experience is that you didn't stay longer.

“Magical, a perfect self catering cottage”
Reviewed 7 August 2011 for a stay in July 2011

The attention to detail by the owners, Lee and Craig was remarkable. A lovely welcome hamper- wine - fresh bread and much more. The cottage was immaculate - inside and out. I loved the little courtyard - perfect for eating outside. Excellent shower (not always available in English properties). Wilmcot is a lovely village with an excellent bus and train service. Lovely walks by the canal a short walk away. Lots of pretty villages and good pubs in the area.
Stratford is a lovely town , good food, shops, river walk and carparking. Follow the carpark sign 'central' for easy access to shops etc. Useful to have supermarket Wilmcot side of Stratford for petrol etc. Warwick castle impressive, pity it is commercialized. Expensive entrance fee. Warwick town disappointing apart from church.
Recommend National Trust Coughton Court - lovely grounds and garden rooms.

“Charming Home away from Home”
Reviewed 7 July 2011 for a stay in June 2011

We found Harpe Cottage to be a beautifully restored Home away from Home with everything provided that we would wish for. The owners Lee and Craig went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even providing a wonderful basket to goodies as a Welcome Gift. The village of Wilcote was quite charming and offered lovely canal walks, while being well located to Stratford upon Avon and Warwick. We would be happy to stay again, and will certainly recommend Harpe Cottage to family and friends wishing to visit the area.

“A charming hideaway for two!”
Reviewed 16 June 2011 for a stay in May 2011

This property has been sensitively renovated to a high standard and everything you could need is provided including a welcome hamper and lovely bottle of wine. There is a small but pleasant and secluded outdoor area with garden furniture and barbecue. Wilmcote is a beautiful historic English village with cosy pubs and lovely walks and it is easy to access Stratford and many places of interest - ideal for touring the Heart of England. Lee & Craig's (owners) attention to detail ensured a trouble-free, relaxing week.
