“Felt well looked after - Great location and staff.”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

The main attraction that caught my eye about this place is its location!! Hotel Seehof has an antique European charm and is situated perfectly right at the shore of lake Constance. The moment you step out of the hotel you see tourists walking up and down the street. This place is perfect for vacationing ( with kids ) although I stayed there on a business trip for 6 nights. The staff were friendly and were very helpful with directions and general awareness of the place. They all spoke English which was a huge plus. The room was clean and the bed was small and cozy, not really an issue. Remember to carry your toiletries as this is one of those hotels that doesn't provide any, except for hand wash. I didn't get a chance to try their restaurant food as their kitchen closes at 9:00 p.m but have heard great reviews about their food from other tourists. This place has its own bike parking lot and a car park which is convenient. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to friends and family! Its a great place to stay for a vacation and has easy access to ice-cream shops, boutique stores, a bike store, bus stop, free Thursday night outdoor concerts and of course the lake!

I stayed three days on a business trip. Breakfast, dinner, room and bathroom were all very nice, as I have learned to expect from a German hotel, but I was very disappointed by the bed. Narrow, unusually soft mattress, thin to transparent mattress cover and a very tired pillow. I expected much better.
The restaurant was good, although I suspect some of the ingredients were industrial: the scrambled eggs had an unusually uniform and very yellow colour and the spaetzle with cheese were drowning in a uniformly yellow goo.
A nice hotel overall, but definitely a notch below Heinzler, in the same town.

Ok, it was totally out of season (18 to 19th of December).. ok, I arrived late and started early.. but that was it: I wanted a bed to sleep in and had to take a double room because I brought my dog for 98 Euro.. They said it would be a french bed but it wasn't, it was a small single bed not placed to the wall but free in the room on both sides, I'm no longer used to that. so slept on the second bed (not made up, was like a sofa) that was at the wall...absolutely ok, just not great and not what they said it would be. Bathroom also not really anything, only a shower.. towels just about sufficient. Luckily a mirror in the cupboard (wardrobe). No bodylotion, only one soap/shampoo combination but I had been careful and brought stuff from another hotel (I don't take large bottles of anything when I travel). No mineral water or apple in the room (had prebooked, didn't get the wreck-rate for crashing late at night at their desk).. Situation is nice, actually the situation is GREAT, directly at the Lake Konstanz, yacht club and harbour. Free WiFi. A bit more accommodating behaviour and a few little things would do the trick. However, the restaurant is simply very very good and very good value for money... so that is another big plus... only for a hotel experience it was a bit pricey for what you got.

Room Tip: In summer and when it's daylight out there: do choose the rooms with the lake view. In winter, t...
