I was there in February for four lovely days. They did have a dive master on staff at that time. The food was really good and abundant. The electricity at night depended on how late people stayed up at the restaurant. If we hung out talking or reading, they left it on for us. Most of the staff leave the island at night for Katupat.

I spent hours hanging in my hammock and was not bothered by the mosquito's at all. Snorkeling was delightful off both sides of the island as I was entertained by turtle, sharks, sea snakes, varieties of clown fish and watching schools of Lion Fish hunt together.

It's also known for having an abundance of fresh water for showering. A number of places in the islands provide sea water for bathing which leaves me feeling sticky.

Room Tip: You have to coordinate getting here with the local ferries or take a private boat once you arrive in Wakai. Hotel Melati in Gorontolo or Hotel Oasis were great sources of information for me. I met people planning to spend five days in the islands but had to cut their time short because of the ferry schedule. The main ferry from Ampana to Gornotolo only runs two days a week so know this ahead of your planning.

i went there purely and simply for the diving.a friend of mine had stayed there a year before, and told me the coral reefs were fantastic and the diving groups much smaller and more personal.as the diving was much cheaper than the other places i stayed a week longer than i expected and can heartly recomend it to any other divers.
