No we did not expect power at this Inn, what we did expect though was maybe a bottle of water to brush our teeth, maybe a flashlight in our room instead of total darkness in a strange environment. We were not asked once after it got dark if there was anything we needed! We were also expected to pay the full amount of the room even though we could not shower, or even brush our teeth! Luckily I did have a bottle of water out in our vehicle and a flashlight to lend to our friends who also had a room here for the night! When we went down in the morning to tell them how we felt about the way they handled the situation, we were told to seek legal representation! Will never never stay here again!I used to stay here every year but since these owners have no compassion for people we will never again!

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary on a very quiet Wednesday night. I think we were the only guests. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to their best suite, which was a lovely, large room. We chose the romance package and received chilled sparking wine, chocolates and a lovely note wishing us a happy anniversary. There was a nice corner jacuzzi in our room. A couple of bathrobes would have been a nice touch. The meal was very good, although it would have been more romantic if there had been a fire in the fireplace and candles on the table. Breakfast was nice the next morning and the owners were very warm and welcoming.

This is a delightful B&B ,our hosts were very warm and welcoming. My husband and I were married in PEI and planned our honeymoon in Nova Scotia at the Surfside Inn. We had ordered the Romantic Package and found a bottle of Champagne chilled and chocolates upon our arrival.
Dinner was perfection and the ambience of the parlour was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay here and will most certainly return,
The Trellis Cafe is another place for good food and music on selected nights and is just down the road from the B&B
Many Thanks for a memorable honeymoon.

This is a great place to stay! If you are planning on exploring different places in Nova Scotia this is a great place because its relatively close to most things in the south of the province and it is relatively close to Halifax as well. The beach right across the street is small but very nice and very close to the inn. The service was great with a great breakfast every morning and great meals if you eat there other times of the day. The staff is very accommodating and always there to help. The rooms are nice and come with TVs, DVD players, and some have Netflix so there is no shortage of entertainment. If we go back to Nova Scotia, we would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Nova Scotia.

We just returned from Surfside Inn. It was very nice! The inn-keeping family was very nice, friendly and welcoming :) Our room (Surfside Retreat) had it's own entrance and we had our own sitting area as well- Bonus! Bed was advertised as a queen but it was only a double I didn't mind but some may. Also, advertised having handmade truffles in room and were given Ferrero Rocher (and only 2). We also got a fruit with cheese & crackers board and it was very good-delicious!We really enjoyed the food, it was very delicious! Mussel appetizer, it was good but I wish it wasn't in beer. Steak, veggies and roasted potatoes very, very good and truffle cheesecake with whipped cream and pecans was DELICIOUS!! Is across the street from Queensland beach. Grounds are kept very nice. Overall it was a very nice stay!

Room Tip: Beds are double-sized not a Queen as advertised (in the Surfside Retreat room at least).

We just returned from our first trip to Nova Scotia. We just picked a location, and we picked the right one. Nova Scotia is lovely. Our whole stay was at the Surfside Inn. The innkeeping family was warm and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and very near the beach. Located on the South Shore, it is a perfect location to day trip to the rest of the province. We liked having breakfast planned (which is included) and having Bert, the cat, greet us each morning. Congrats on a great get away place.

Julie, Bill, Megan

Room Tip: We had the suite with an external entrance. It was nice to sit outside in the mornings and evenings...
