This was our second visit to La Saura and the warmth of the welcome was just the same. We had a different room this time and it was as lovely as the ground floor one we had before. The standard is very high and Jocelyn has a wonderful taste in furnishing the rooms.
We had a glass of cremant in the garden with Jocelyn and her lovely husband and another couple soon after arrival. Being a Sunday it was difficult to eat nearby so we went into Beaune with the other couple and had a wonderful meal which Jocelyn had booked for us which made a lovely end to our holiday. We cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to returning soon. Just wish we had chosen to stay two nights and taken advantage of the swimming pool.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely and the ground floor ones would suit people with limited mobility as the st...

La Saura B&B is heaven on earth! We stayed for four nights in April, and wished for another few nights. Every aspect of our visit was outstanding - the welcome we received from Jocelyne, the beautiful garden area outside the room, the location near Beaune, the peace and tranquility of the surroundings, all added up to a wonderful experience.

When we drove into the parking area, Jocelyne came out to greet us, and I immediately felt her warmth and hospitality. She showed us to our room, the Cluny, and I was very happy. It is decorated in palest gray and white, with touches of soft blue, and is tranquil and luxurious. The bathroom is large and every amenity is provided. The artwork is a beautiful accent, and the high, beamed ceilings are make an interesting pattern overhead. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever had the pleasure to sleep in. Because there is a sofa and a day bed, with two convenient tables, the room feels like a studio apartment. There is also a separate lounge area for guests, down at the end of the row of rooms.

Jocelyn and her husband were warm and helpful and patiently answered our many questions. Visiting with them became one of the high points of each day. Jocelyne made a delicious apple tart especially for us after hearing me talk about how we'd enjoyed them on our trip. She served it at breakfast, along with her other delicious offerings - excellent coffee, local cheeses, croissants, a different bread each morning, yogurts, and fruit. Her dining room is a lovely place to start the day.

We feel that we have made a friend in Jocelyne, and would love to return someday. I will always remember the view of the garden and village from her front door.

Room Tip: The Cluny is a beautiful suite on the ground floor of the renovated stable. It is large and spaciou...

Not only is Lusigny-sur-Ouche a pretty location but it has one of the best b& b's that we stayed in France. We booked for one night and stayed 3! The lovely Jocelyne is helpful, caring and always smiling together her attention to detail she created a warm and beautiful home away from home for our stay, this was a wonderful start to a memorable holiday through France, we would definitely return and in fact we tried to rebook but unfortunately there were no rooms available on our return. Her English and patients with our rather limited and bad French was greatly appreciated. So close to Beaune which is a must to see, visit Madeline street for wonderful food and just ask Jocelyn because she will advise you from food to tourist information.

It is a real pleasure to read such a review even so long after your stay in La Saura. And it is nice to know that you remember your stay here. Thank you for telling what you appreciated and hopefully you will come back during your next visit in Burgundy. I remember you as well and especially your kindness. I will always look forward to welcoming you. Kind regards to you both.

As all of the other reviews have stated, La Saura is a very charming bed and breakfast about 15 minutes from Beaune. However, the real charms of La Saura are the wonderful owners and hosts, Jocelyn and Jean-Marie, who truly care about each and everyone who stays there. They are both very thoughtful and sincere, and generous in sharing suggestions and recommendations about touring the area, wine tasting, restaurants, etc.

Jocelyn has such beautiful taste, and has decorated with French country flair. Our room, suite Cluny, was recently renovated with hardwood floors, original beamed ceiling, and decorated in soft pastels. It was extremely comfortable, with a king bed, sitting area, huge modern bathroom and a large walk-in closet. Beautiful linens, refinished antique country french furniture, and a view of the gardens added to a fabulous stay.

We enjoyed many conversations with other guests around the breakfast table, and even had an opportunity to share a lovely dinner at a local restaurant with our hosts Jocelyn and Jean-Marie, with lots of good food, good wine, and much laughter ("Holy Guacamole", Jean Marie!!). We applauded Jocelyn for her amazing driving skills as she drove us back through a torrential
rainstorm ...

We will definitely stay at La Saura when we return to France, and highly recommend it as a wonderful place to stay.

The only problem is which of the beautiful rooms to chose ! Each one is decorated in a different style with taste and attention to detail. To relax around the pool is delightful with the wonderful views of the surrounding country.
Breakfast was really a wonderful start to the day with the choice of unusual breads, jams and cheese and excellent coffee! Jocelyne and Jean-Marie are the perfect hosts and it is very hard to tear yourself away from this magical spot.......Looking forward to our next visit!

Whether you are staying one night here or three, it seems that everyone has a wonderful welcome from Jocelyne. We stayed here for 2 nights on our way south and for 2 nights on our return and it was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are very comfortable and equipped, very tastefully furnished and just like a luxury boutique hotel. There is a very lovely garden and a great pool with sun loungers, plus wonderful walks through the pretty and unspoilt village. Breakfast was a feast and very sociable with everyone sitting around a large table overseen by Jocelyne who speaks excellent English and is a great source of local knowledge and information. Breakfast was so delicious it was hard to drag ourselves away but there are lots of vineyards to see and Beaune is an interesting town to visit. We ate locally one night which was quite good but fairly expensive and it is much better to eat in Beaune - for that reason you need a car if you are staying here. The entrance is quite discreet through electric gates with plenty of parking not too far from the rooms but you don't have to look at cars through your bedroom window! Jocelyne was very efficient with our booking and very kind and attentive of guest's needs - she was even temporarily storing some wine for an over enthusiastic purchaser who had stayed with her. We can't wait to return!

We had the pleasure to return to La Saura and booked three nights stay, it is as beautiful as we remember it. Once the gates opened we were still amazed by this beautifully restored house and stables, We were shown to our room "Fontenay" which is just gorgeous, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with such style! Simple perfection is really the only word that adequately describes this beautiful B&B in Burgundy. The property itself is beautiful in a serene village 15 minutes from Beaune, the rooms are very elegant and decorated in french style and the garden is a wondrful place to sit fo few hours reading a book or catching some sun around the pool.
