We had a lovely stay at Cloister B&B whilst doing the north coast 500. Bob and his wife were great hosts, nice to talk to and cooked a great kipper breakfast with a wonderful array of proper old fashioned cutlery. The view from this location was absolutely amazing and we would love to come back when the minke whales come into the bay. The property is really interesting place to stay and has plenty of space to park your car.

Bob Morrison is a retired architect and has done a wonderful job in creating The Cloisters - a building next door to the old church that he and his wife have owned since 1991. It is situated in the little hamlet of Talmine, just off the main road leading into Tongue from the west. The views of the Kyle of Tongue are magnificent and so is the treatment you will get from Bob and his wife. An example of how caring they are is Bob’s rush after me in his car (luckily, I was on my bike) to return my iPad that I had accidentally left behind. I am eternally grateful.

Room Tip: The are all good.

A great place to stay with comfortable rooms and very welcoming owners. The position is quiet with good views down to the beach and bay and is a good choice for exploring the North Coast. I have been recommending it to friends already.

We could only pay cash, en we went through a lot of trouble to get it on a friday night. But we wanted the room so badly, because of the beautiful surroundings! And it only got better. De room was wonderful and clean, the view was beautiful, I woke up with the sun on my face. We went on an amazing hike in the area the next morning. The breakfast left me speechless, it was made with so much love. Thank you Bob and Audrey!

Lovely stay, a clean comfortable bedroom with a nice hot bath / shower. Very nice architectural features, breakfast in the main house, lovely people. Sorted a table for evening meal at hotel up road, walking back thru the cows in the road added to the experience too! Highly recommend the cloisters bed and breakfast, particularly as the rate we paid and the view and surroundings, was around £40 per night less than our other stays on our route, and this exceeded some of those places!
