My wife and I picked this hotel mostly because it is part of Relais and Chateaux and located in northern Provence. I had pre-paid (big mistake) 5 nights to get a discounted rate. We arrived by car and immediately noticed the hotel is located in an industrial town near the Rhone River...very close to a 2 stack nuclear rector plant. The hotel looks very tired and our deluxe room was dark with a small window. The toilet seat and lid fell off when first used and the clothes closet looked like it was made from old, used IKEA furniture. Paint was peeling off the shower wall in the bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was acceptable but certainly not special. We decided to check out after one night and found another wonderful Relais and Chateau hotel in a beautiful location nearby. The hotel eventually gave us a 1 night refund although they were not 'legally' obligated to. Relais and Chateau needs to re-assess whether this hotel should be in their affiliated properties. It is a 3 star hotel at best.

We stayed here for a week, celebrating our wedding anniversary. It's a comfortable hotel with very efficient and friendly staff. The gardens are lovely and it's a couple of minutes walk into the town. Our room had everything we needed. Breakfast was just perfect, a lovely mix of fresh fruit, yoghurts etc., conserves, bread, pastries and gorgeous coffee. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was an experience, not just a meal! The staff were so attentive but discreet. The food was, quite simply, wonderful; fantastic blends of flavours and textures. At the end of the evening the chef came to each table to ask if everything had been ok. We would definitely stay here again because although fairly expensive, it is worth the money for the comfort and the location

This was our second stay at Villa Augusta (long week-end, couple). This small hotel (24 rooms) is very comfortable; especially the garden inside the hotel's perimeters feels like an oasis after you get off the road (usually after a reasonably long drive). The rooms are furnished in a warm Provencale sort of way, but at the same time modern and without the usual bourgeois hint. Hotel staff are exceptionally helpful and go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful one. The highlight is the restaurant led by chef David who applies a modern (and Eastern) touch to local fare. All in all a great experience.

Room Tip: Go for a superior room for slightly more space. The junior suite is great if you value tub over cou...

This is a great place to stay.
The staff were very friendly and the room was quiet, comfortable and spacious on level one.
There is no lift and the wifi did not work for much of the time.
Staff assisted with bags and allowed us to use wifi near front work station.
Site and gardens are wonderful and the restaurant David Mollicone provided us with a great setting and an exceptional meal.
Price was reasonable and the food and service outstanding

Dear Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on TripAdvisor.
It was with great pleasure to have you with us at the Villa Augusta, and we shared your message with our team.
As for the Wifi, we are pleased to inform that we have since installed secured Wifi Access Points, which will allow our in-house guests to enjoy a smooth connection. This service is free and is accessible throughout the property, except the pool... We would be glad to propose an aperitif at the poolside!
Thank you once again, and we look forward to welcoming you again at Villa Augusta.

Best Wishes,

The hotel is situated on a main road but this is not significant the courtyard is situated behind the hotel as are the Gardens and pool..The house keeping was a bit hit and miss the WIFI was atrocious but what made up for this were the Receptionists..Courteous helpful and there..The dining however was an experience not to be missed. I found the chef too be helpful as certain foods I couldnt eat so he altered his superb menu too suit my needs...The dishes were fantastic the staff in the dining room were helpful and knowledgeable and unobtrusive...I highly reccommend this for a dining experience..the sommelier was also very knowledgeable and matched wines for my husband

Room Tip: we had a room excellence at the rear of the hotel

Well what can I say apart from wow!

We only stayed for one evening but what an evening it was. Traveling back up to Lyon on our way back to the UK we decided to break the journey and stay at this gorgeous boutique style hotel.

What a find!

The service was second to non, both in general (hotel) and in the amazing restaurant. We had our 8 year olf daughter with us and they treated her like a princess; amazing.

The suite that we booked was amazing with large terrace over looking the pretty garden (with out door pool).... TOP hotel with an amazing restaurant.

Room Tip: If you can afford it; stay in a suite; you'll not be disappointed!
