“Great service and good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2012

We stayed on the way to Santiago de Compostella in this Moissac hotel. The service was great, we were able to leave baggage for 14 days without any problem. The rooms are ok, ours was not too large size, but ok and well furnished. Both, the dinner and breakfast was very nice. The hotel is just a 5 minutes away from the main church, cloister and city center. The other direction is to the railway station, also only a few mintes walking distance. I definitely recommend this hotel and would come back.

We got our bookings mixed up and arrived a day early. The hotel staff couldn't have been nicer about it and found us rooms and didn't surcharge us, as they could have, for our mix-up. Beds comfortable and triple rooms spacious. Decor and cleanliness fine. They opened the bar for us at night and also terrace earlier in evening so very helpful. The only disappointment that stopped a 5 star rating was the breakfast at €7 which was basic but in keeping with other hotels of this type on our trip around the south of France. You get bread, butter, small saches of jam, orange juice and coffee. No cheese or ham which we expected. Close to cloister and town centre.

We stayed in Le Luxembourg at the end of a sector of the Chemin de Compostelle last year. We found it to be very central to the Abbey and restaurants. It was also close to the railway station so not far to wheel our bags at the end of the walk. The decor could be considered a little tired but the room was comfortable and clean. And, at least the price was extremely reasonable. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We will probably stay there again this year as we begin the next sector of the walk.

This hotel is literally 300m walk from the train station at Moissac, and it's only a few minutes into the main part of the town itself. I stayed for two days on a business trip.

There were continual sub zero temperatures of between -12 to -4 outside but the hotel was lovely and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I heard that you have to ask for a room with an en suite or you might end up sharing bathrooms, so I emailed ahead to arrange this. The room itself was basic, but clean and everything worked, unlike another hotel in Moissac I recently stayed in! Like that one too, the tv only has local channels and subsequently no news to watch unless you speak French. The shower was fantastic, hot and powerful and was really appreciated after a cold day outside. There was also a really efficient wall fan heater that also served to warm towels. Space in the hotel might be at a premium as I had a large upended and folded bed in my room on top of the two that were already there. It added character though!

Breakfast at 7 Euros was disappointing. There is no choice of hams or cheese, only two types of jam to compliment your croissant or bread stick. Coffee and orange juice complete the menu there. The whole town closes down on a Monday, including the hotel restaurant, but I found one open in the town, which I used on both evenings.

The Luxemburg is clean and if you're on a budget is ideal. Be prepared to hear the guests in other rooms as the sound insulation is not too good, but strangely enough you don't hear passing trains at the end of their garden!

Room Tip: Ask for an en suite or you will have to share a bathroom with at least three other rooms according t...

We just needed needed a basic room walking distance from the train station and the Saint-Pierre abbey and this hotel fit the bill. We paid a fair price of 48 euro for a double (though the staff seemed slightly miffed at us for not paying extra for the breakfast/dinner). It was a clean, warm (it was late November) room with a hot shower and comfortable bed. There was a neat heater device in the bathroom that you could use to control the temperature which was much appreciated. The free wifi connection was difficult at first but we did get it going eventually. But really, why come to Moissac to hang out in your hotel room when artistic treasures at the Saint-Pierre abbey are a five minute walk away?

We arrived by bike to this old hotel, the owner was very helpful and put our bikes in the garage, showed us our room, very old French but large and clean. We were then given entry codes for front door and every one left to enjoy there own family gathering. the bar and resturant being closed.Business as ususal the next morning and our water bottles filled.
Charming hotel . it all added to the memory
.

Room Tip: Not all rooms had bathrooms so ask before booking
