This was our second stay and I found the staff really helpful. We booked all of our dinners for the week, as seem to book out really quickly, and the hotel staff were a fantastic help. Room was clean, fantastic location and facilities for ski/snowboards were awesome. Good place to stay in Niseko.

Thank you for your review of your stay in Yama Shizen. It`s wonderful to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. As Niseko gets increasing popular, obtaining your preferred restaurant booking last minute becomes difficult so we are glad you organised this in advance and secured the restaurants you want.

We hope to welcome you back to Niseko for your third stay with us next winter.

Kind regards,

Simon Foster

Terrific apartment - we stayed in Yama Shizen West apt 602. Each room had a king bed with its own bathroom and tv and access to the balcony. The jacuzzi on the balcony was amazing, great to sit in there at the end of the day relaxing taking in the awesome view of Mt Youtei. Free wifi, great stereo, dvd with usb port ( just attached my ipad and could watch my downloaded movies) although there is free dvd rental at reception.

The apartment is super modern and extremely clean throughout and very spacious. We were very happy with the choice. The best part was the free ski valet service Hokkaido travel offers - no need to cart your skis and those horrible boots back and forth from the ski fields, just leave them there near the Gondola lift with the valet and catch the bus for a 2 min ride back to your hotel. Great idea!

I have never seen so much soft snow! incredible white christmas!

Thank you for taking the time to review Yama Shizen 602 penthouse. It is indeed a very beautiful penthouse and we are glad you took advantage of our free Ski Valet service located at the the bottom of the Grand Hirafu Gondola.

Thank you again for taking the time to review us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Niseko next winter.

This is my first time to Niseko and I'm glad my friends picked this apartment. We got a 3 bedroom apartment, very spacious, love the lounge plus open kitchen which is great for chill and gathering. All the rooms are averagely big and nice n clean bathroom. The only thing which is not so satisfy with their housekeeping service. They suppose to clean our room once every 2 days, but they just literally clear our bins and change new towels. I was hoping they will tidy our bed and do "some" cleaning... But overall it's great location for ski trips , very close to the slope. Plus a great view of the mountain through out our lounge and kitchen ;)

Thank you for your review and staying with us. We do have a hotel service option for all property rentals which provides daily cleaning, linen and garbage change every second day which is called "Serviced" cleaning. This servicing option is basically like what you would receive in a hotel and is more expensive than our "Eco" servicing. We would recommend next time you stay with us that if you wish to have daily servicing of your apartment that you consider choosing our daily "Serviced" cleaning option.

I will be sure to share all your comments with our staff. Thank you again and I hope in the future you chose to stay with us again.

Great place generally speaking. The view from the kitchen, lounge room and bedroom were all breath taking. Plenty of space to spread out for the both of us. Everything is new and clean and offers a touch of luxury to a certain extent.
Good location- about a 5 min walk up a hill to the ski lift and about 7min walk to the closest convienience store. There are bars, cafes and restaurants a few minutes walk away.
There were a couple of small issues that I think they could improve... I found it to be chilly inside the apartment, as the only heating appliances are electric wall heaters which do generate some heat but not really enough to keep you warm when it is a blizard outside. I kept a jumper on at all times that I was inside... The wireless internet was very unreliable. I couldnt email or web brouse for more that 5-10minutes without it cutting out. I think perhaps someone else (aka) reception might be streaming tv shows through the internet..either that, or the wireless cant handle more than one computer or mobile connection at any one time.
We chose the "eco cleaning" option which is a cheaper and more environmentaly concious option. However the only thing they did when the attended to our room was put two clean bath towels in our bed. I wasnt expecting the usual hotel cleaning service but I was expecting a little more. Such as, a milk refill (we received one 100ml carton for our 5day stay. Tea and coffee refill would have been nice too. The bathroom towel floor matt.and hand towel were never replaced for us... so i would say a maximum of 5 out of 10 stars for the cleaning service they provide.
Other than these few minor negative points the apartment was great. Everything we could have wanted for our first trip to Niseko.

Thank you for your comments. I am very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us in Yama Shizen. Since you were last here we have provided a walking path on the left side of Yama Shizen to make it easier to access the gondola and our Ski Valet thus making walking to the gondola about half the distance it used to take. We encourage you to use this path next time you stay with us.

As you mentioned our "Eco" cleaning does not include any bed making and if you wished to have a hotel style clean we recommend our "Serviced" daily cleaning option which as you mentioned is more expensive and less environmentally friendly. Had you have stayed more than 7 nights even on our "Eco" cleaning, you have have received a mid stay clean, mid way through your stay with us which would have included sheets change etc. During that mid stay clean you would have received a new floor mat and hand towel but as your stay was only 5 nights and you chose our "Eco" cleaning, both these items were never replaced as you pointed out.

I will be sure to share all your comments with our staff. Thank you again and I hope in the future you chose to stay with us again.

Kind regards,

Simon Foster

We spent a week with friends in Yama Shizen East in apartment 404, which has three bedrooms, and everything about it was just great. It's beautifully decorated and modern, with a laundry room, well-appointed open-plan kitchen and large, comfortable living room looking towards the mountain, free wi-fi, flat-screen TV – the works. Also, the Australian power points as well as Japanese are a nice touch – no need for fighting over adaptors. The location is perfect, within easy walking distance of the bus, supermarket, bars, cafes and restaurants. The Hokkaido Tracks staff in the lobby were all very helpful with advice, restaurant bookings, transport arrangements, etc.
Some other friends of ours were staying nearby in the Yotei Tracks building, which is also managed by Hokkaido Tracks, and they were very happy with their two-bedroom apartment (405), which had a great view of the ski hill, and was very pretty at night.
There are many cafes and restaurants in the area and all the ones we tried were good – A-Bu-Cha Bakery & Café (great pastries), Bang Bang, Mina Mina... For a really special traditional Japanese experience, try a multi-course dinner at Yo restaurant. It's not cheap, but it's worth every yen. They will pick you up and drop you back at your accommodation. Booking is essential.
And have I mentioned the snow? So much of it and simply wonderful. Our group's skiing experience ranged from beginners to experts, and everyone was beyond happy. Best snow holiday ever.

We stayed at the Yama Shizen studios and it was just perfect. We booked it through Hokkaidotravel.com.au and they were just amzaing. Australians with a passion for Japan - knew exactly what we wanted, instant response, instant action, they picked us up from where the bus dropped us off even though it was only a 5 minute walk! Loved your service Andy. The studio was spacious, love the luxury of the room, modern design, your own bathroom and kitchen. 5 minutes walk to the main welcome centre. 5 minutes walk to the gondola. 2 minutes to the main street where all the restuarants and ski hire shops are. And Hirafu snow... well its cheap lift tickets, awesome service, love the range of slopes, love the powder snow... its a must for all boarders and skiiers!

As a returning Hokkaido Tracks Holidays (HTT) client, I am always assured of great service. The booking agent was very helpful in recommending a property which suited our family needs (2 adults, 1 senior, 3 children) and the concierge service is comprehensive including advanced restaurant reservations which is essential during peak period. We stayed at Konkurrito K which is a nice, large 4 bedroom house located in central Hirafu with a shuttle bus within easy walking distance. HTT offer an English speaking concierge service and responded immediately when we had to make a call about a glitch in the hot water system in one of the bedrooms. The maintenance arrived shortly to rectify the problem. On the last day, we were given an extended checkout time and this was very convenient for our group prior to being transferred to the meeting point for the bus service to the airport. I would highly recommend HTT.
