“Not one of the best”
Reviewed 20 May 2013

Many stays at many Premier Inns, but this was not up to normal standard. Usual amenties and yes a comfortable bed, but quite a small room and a bit dingy. The bathroom was tiny and the door just missed the toilet. The windows are softwood and need replacing. First Premier Inn where we have been able to hear through the walls. Closest to the shopping at Cheshire Oaks, but much much better Premiers elsewhere on the Wirral and would rather drive that bit further in future. The attached 'restaurant' and bar (Brewers Fayre) is awful! The food is overcooked, dry and tasteless. Breakfast was worse, full of unruly kids with families who weren't even staying there, but taking over at breakfast. Flat refusal when we asked for a quiet table as they weren't in use for breakfast. Had to ask for just about everything, staff were hopeless in keeping up with replenshing food, cups, juice etc. First Premier where breakfast was help yourself from pans on a warm counter yukky and cheap catering food. Happy to pay for a good stay at Premier Inn normally, but to charge the same for this place as others of a higher standing is a cheek.

We stayed on the Top floor and the room was clean and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. The staff at reception were both friendly and professional, the only downside is the noise from other guests can be disturbing at times but this says more about their lack of consideration for others than the quality of the Premier Inn. I would stay again but would not eat ever again at the Brewers Fayre next door which is very poor.

My Husband and I stopped at The Premier Inn Wirral on the 3rd May to 6th May for the bank holiday, This Premier Inn was probably the most dated of the Premier Inn's we've stopped at, but that doesn't mean its falling to pieces, far from it! The rooms upstairs are very spacious, clean and light. Usual tea and coffee facilities. The Hotel has a Brewers Fayre joining it, and the All you can eat Breakfasts are really value for money! We found that The Premier Inn was ideally located for us, Little Sutton train station is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel which enabled us to get a train into Chester (catch the Liverpool Central Train, get off at Hooton and catch the Chester train from there, don't be fooled and get on the Ellesmere Port train, we ended up waiting around for an hour and there was noone apart from the train driver to direct us!) This hotel is only 13 minutes drive to Chester Zoo, 18 minutes drive to Chester City Centre and 20 minutes from Liverpool.

All in all, fantastic little break, lovely quiet hotel, cannot fault it at all! Would highly recommend, Thanks to all the staff at Premier Inn Wirral - Childer Thornton for been very friendly and welcoming!

I am so not impressed with this Premier Inn. Kept awake all night by someone upstairs pacing back and forth and the wooden floorboards kept on creaking. Why has this not been addressed by now? The rooms are small dark and quite unpleasant in comparison to other Premier Inns in which I have stayed. To be avoided.

Room Tip: Dont have ground floor room

Stayed here for three nights for the Grand National weekend. This was a good base as it only a ten minute walk to the local Merseyrail Station (Little Sutton), which made it an easy trip to the National. The hotel reception staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, as always in the Premier Inn. No noise. We took the ‘meal deal’ for £22 per night per person (breakfast and three course evening meal with alcoholic drink). This was good value and was at the attached ‘Brewers Fayre’. Again the service was excellent. We have previously stayed in a number of hotels in the area, and this is the hotel we will certainly be visiting again.

For anybody visiting Chester I cannot really recommand this hotel. There are closer options. Rooms very small, rather dark. Impossible to stay in ground floor - creaking ceiling from 1st floor rooms makes sleeping nearly impossible. Pub-Restaurant also very basic with poor service and just average food. Fan of Premier Inn´s normally but not of this particular hotel. Staff in hotel very friendly (though not in Pub), but what could they do ?
