Kia's is a hidden jem. We loved it! I went to Trinidad with two frineds before going to Tobago. We were there for my b-day during the Jazz Festival. We had a 1-bedroom apartment on the top floor April 22-27. I found Kia's on www.myTobago.info
Karen, the owner, is great-- cheery and helpful. My only complaint is that the cleaning lady did not clean! One day she dropped off new sheets but that was it.
The apartment was gorgeous-- very spacious with one bed, dining table, full kitchen, TV sitting area with couch, balcony with a table. Karen gave us an extra fold out bed.
The local public beach (Store Bay) is up the road. We also went to Pigeon Point beach (15 min walk from Kia's or via taxi 30TT [$5 US]), which is private, and lovely.. the water only comes up to your waist though, it's very shallow.
There are eateries near by, and a convenience store on the corner. The food at the beach is nice also. Take some tamirind sauce home with you, a guy on the main road sells it. Yummy!
We went on the snorkling tour, which is around 40TT at Store Bay beach.
Club Shade is nice, loved the Tequila shots!More
