I love the location and the view! If you have a choice, try to get a cabana as the actual rooms are not as nice nor as private!

The Hotel is in a beautiful location and that's about the only nice thing I can say about it. The sliding glass door on our Cabana was broken the day we arrived, we informed the staff and no one showed up to fix it...the next day we returned from eating breakfast at a local restaurant only to find a man leaving the Cabana...we thought he was staff there to fix the door...we later found out that he was not with staff and that he had robbed us. He must have known the door was broken, possibly alerted by staff members. The management wasn't helpful or concerned as if they had become immune to the raising crime rate in Trinidad and Tobago, which is a shame in such a beautiful place. We would never stay here again to say the least. The police were very helpful and professional but of course there was very little they could do. I would encourage people to visit Tobago, the island is wonderful and the people are generally friendly, just please be aware that crime is everywhere and don't let your guard down, and stay at a hotel that cares more for your security.

Arrived in Tobago for a friend's wedding and was expecting a decent stay considering the reviews. Unfortunately, we got one of the poorly maintained rooms.
General Observations:
1. Staff isn't rude, but generally misinformed and indifferent. They also seem to be constantly on cellular phones. So they are never helpful. With the exception of the pool bartender, he was very polite.
2. Internet woes. I asked 4 different front desk/hotel staffers about the policy for wireless internet and the answers were widely varied. I concluded that wireless internet is available in rooms for a cost, you entire credit card info when you open the browser. However, the network is unsecured. Or you are free to use the lobby facilities.
3. Bathrooms are ridiculously small. I have 2 daughters and this was a major problem for us. You get soap and toilet paper. No other toiletries.
4. Air conditioner was very noisy. Not an issue for everyone but this was worse than normal. Rumbling all night.
5. Cleaning staff etc are out and about early and the noise is ridiculous. Especially on the ground floor. The carts rolling is startling.
6. I don't think the doors/locking system are full proof. While there is security around the hotel at night, I was uneasy about leaving any valuable possessions around the room during the day. See the photos to get an idea of what I mean. There are several easy ways to get into the rooms.
7. Kitchen needed a major upgrade.
8. Bedding sucks. Flat pillows, cheap sheets and decor. The bedding is even labeled CPH in a black marker, which is rather tacky.

Am told by friends that the room we stayed in is privately owned so not all are this badly kept. However, I was able to visit a cabana our other friends stayed in and was equally disappointed. It was small and the bathroom was a bit worn.
The hotel exterior, the pool and lobby area are very well maintained but the rooms are not good at all. Clearly there needs to be a bit of renovating.
We did ask to switch rooms and the lady at the front desk (without checking or looking up from her phone) said that switching couldn't be done overnight. Not sure what that meant though. To top it off the rate wasn't phenomenal, so cost vs worth was not balanced for me.
Bottom line: This is a budget hotel. You stay here if you want to save money and you care solely about location. Because the view, that is very good.

Having stayed at many other hotels in the Store Bay area, I will never choose to stay elsewhere. Location is a 10! The hotel is a 2-minutes walk across the road from the airport. I love the fact that within 20 minutes after landing, you've checked in and on the beach having a swim! No hassle! Cheap local food & drink available anytime in the public food court behind the hotel. Little grocery next door for all the essentials. We prefer a Cabana for solitude and having our little space in the gardens for privacy. It's nice to get up and have coffee on your porch with no prying neighbours and the most delightful unobstructed views of the Bay. We love to take quiet walks thru the grounds after dinner and open a bottle of wine, sitting under the moonlight and hearing the waves gently crashing on the shore below. Just walk down the steps to the beach. Always security around and it's very safe. Walking distance to the main road and restaurants. The dive boats to Buccoo Reef are at your doorstep every morning and drop you back after your reef trip.
The hotel food is basic but they do a nice local breakfast. Always cold beers!
Some of the nightly singers/groups think they're great and we are totally entertained by the entertainment (always a laugh!). All round, nothing compares for value, ambiance, location, There s really no better place to stay in Tobago!

I love the location, close to airport, restaurants, casino, and beaches. Transport easily accessible. The rooms are clean, though small. The pool is nice, but the location is not....it's too close to the restaurant. The food is awesome....but the wait..........too long! The grounds are lovely for moonlit strolls. The upgrade has benefited the hotel a great deal, (but they should have installed an outdoor jacuzzi).

We stayed in an upstairs 1 bedroom for 1 night (TT$900 plus taxes) , then in one of the privately owned studios on the bottom floor (TT$550 flat)for another night. Both were clean and located in safe locations on the grounds. The linin in the privately owned studio far exceeded the quality comfort of that in the one-bedroom. We took our own beach towels but the ones in the privately owned studio were lovely.I dont know what kind of beach towels the hotel provides, we never went for them. To stay in one of the privately owned studios you need to contact the owners privately and they need to feel comfortable with having you stay in their room. You can check with the person who runs the mini-mart, she knows the owners.
The hotel is clean, the restaurant food is simple for the price, the ambiance is simple but pleasant, the grounds and the views are great, the staff aren't the most helpful (except the bar man) and we had one very bad experience with a guard but when we wrote a compliant comment on leaving, we got a call when we returned home apologising about the situation...though to be honest they owe us more than that - it was a very bad experience and when we complained to front desk staff we got no help.
It's near to Store Bay and the airport, we walked to both and to Pigeon Point (25 min walk).
Check in is 2 and check out is 11and I found them unflexible with those times. There's a room to leave your luggage in (lock your bags! they arent liable!). the internet cafe is just one desk in a corner. there's no tourist info desk. There's a grocery next door, and a small church.

This was our second visit to Crown Point Beach Hotel. The main reason was due to the location and cleanliness of the cabana. The rate was TT$700 per night. We rented a car for about TT300 per day. The cabana was centrally located with excellent views of Storebay. It was very clean and spacious, however the beds were small and uncomfortable. Every evening we would sit outside and watch the sun set. There was entertainment on Friday and Saturday night, nothing grand but something to listen to. The hotel grounds are absolutley wonderful and the location of the hotel is simply the best.
