A little rough around the edges...but all and all the family and I love to stay here. The rooms are spacious and comfortable...home away from home. The management ensures that any problem you have whilst staying here would be completely taking care of. With the bartender Gary, there is nothing short of a dull moment. Linda the waitress...wow! She is spectacular. Others like Dianne, Keishel and a few others....can't remember their names...are always ready to serve you. The Food and Beverage Manager, Junior....Great, Great guy, he ensures that any problems you may encounter is immediately taken care of. Christine, the first and last face you would see, as she holds the front desk, is one of the most accommodating and polite person you could ever meet. There may at some times have problems with the air conditioning units, and the water supply, but once reported, they are quickly taken care of. Carlene, our in house maid, is patient and extremely helpful. Our two kids always make sure she has her work cut out for her whenever she cleans our room. Last but not the least is the Manager, Mr. Mac, he is the reason that we stay at Tropikist. If and when ever he leaves, we may not return, for the services, accommodation, and allowances he provides to my wife, our two kids and I, are like none other we have ever experience anywhere else. So try it, you may or may not enjoy it..but we surely do.

Room Tip: Ask for the Superior Suites!

I stayed at the hotel because of a recommendation from a friend. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. On arrival, however, the reception clerks were a bit unfriendly but soon warmed up and from that moment on I had no issues with staff. Their bartender, Gary and waitress Linda were the most entertaining and had shown great hospitality. Everyone was helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making our stay a pleasant one. The food was good and I had a great time at the pool. The room had a homey feel to it and I really enjoyed the view. Overall, the hotel was absolutely wonderful. Perfect for a weekend getaway. My fiancé and I will definitely be returning!

Check in was smooth. Staff are friendly when you get their attention. Place definitely needs some TLC, in and out side of rooms. Rooms are spacious however. Probably would not stay here for more than three days. Wifi only works in lobby which in this day and ages is terrible. Not worth the price I paid but if you get a good deal definitely give it a try. Close to airport and tourist attractions.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms might not have the best ocean view but they at least don't look out onto dirt...

On arriving the reception staff was very slow to attending to us. We arrived at 2.30pm, and got our room almost 4pm, which I think is silly, seeing that the hotel check in is at 3pm and reservations made in advance,a room should already been organised.
The food was excellent, we took the breakfast and dinner package. The environs was spotless and super clean. I love it!! The pool and jacuzzi was clean as well, well maintained and organised. The hotel is very kid friendly and family oriented. Romantic for couples, they had a live singer on Friday night which creating a wonderful ambiance.
The rooms are basic, well kept and clean.
Will definitely recommend, even though I think it was a bit too pricey.

Room Tip: The hotel is close to the airport, so when it's really quiet u can hear the airplanes coming in...

There was a home-y feel to the place. We felt as though we were welcome and the service was great thanks to the amazing staff! Honourable staff members were Linda, a waitress with a spunky attitude and jokes all through dinner time, and Shurla, a staff member from the kitchen. She always checked in on us to make sure we were okay. I also can't forget the chef whose food was superb and Lenore, the breakfast lady who makes the excellent saltfish! The pool though! That pool made the entire resort!

We were hesitant about this hotel based on the reviews but because of the closeness to the hotel my family of four came. We took the all inclusive package and stayed in two deluxe rooms which were clean, spacious with all amenities that worked well. Towels and linens were clean and new. Staff from day one were friendly and helpful, if you are pleasant to people they will be nice with you human nature. Food was tasty and delicious we had request for vegetarian food and the nice jolly rosy woman cook and Gary organized some tasty dishes. Breakfast was lovely. Tobagoian can cook fish. The pools were clean and children friendly. Swim up bar good did not have to leave pool. Only problem need more bartenders at pool too long wait for drinks but wonderful hotel and staff. Will and have recommended to others will visit again.

Room Tip: Ask for deluxe rooms big bed and wonderful view

Very friendly hotel staff and good meals were provided. (One must be early though to breakfast and dinner or certain items will not be available.) It's good that the breakfast area has now been enclosed with a nylon mesh to keep out those pesky but charming birds although a few errant ones occasionally slip in. Location is excellent and we will stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on second and third floors will have the best views.
