The room was simple and small no phone and fridge or microwave for the price. The place is very quiet close to the Airport and beaches but lot of music was coming from the bar. I called and no one answer the last night i stayed.
The bar attendant was friendly.Should they have a phone and fridge I would surely come back to stay, they should control the noise at the bar for their guests who are sleeping.

I have just recently returned from spending a week at Toucan Inn with a friend. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it. The service was excellent and very friendly so surprised to read some of the negative comments on here.
The location is great being near the airport and a short walk from Store Bay beach which was a lifesaver when we arrived as we couldn't wait to cool off from the shock of the heat and humidity that hit us getting off the plane. We had a dip in the pool, but the water was about the same temp as my bath water :) We stayed in a garden room which was cleaned daily to a high standard, the bed very comfortable and linen white and pristine, clean towels daily, a safe in one of the generous amount of cupboards, table and chairs inside as well as outside the room, more plug point sockets than you will need, and most importantly an aircon that worked. The bathroom was basic but had a good shower water pressure. We stayed on a B&B basis but ate at Bonkers restaurant most evenings as the food was well prepared and tasty and served by a delightful multi-tasking KP. We had to make sure we took bottles of water to the room as tap water isn't potable on the island. Free coffee/tea was available around the pool deck area 24/7. The garden was delightful with palm trees and lovely shrubs that attracted a selection of birds and even a humming bird.
All in all, I loved this little oasis and would definitely return to stay here as we were made to feel very welcome. Thanks to Lisa and all the staff, you are great!

Room Tip: Garden rooms seem to be the best.

We first visited this hotel 5 years ago and didn't hesitate to return. But we were in for a disappointing stay luckily we had only booked for three nights. The rooms had not been maintained the floor was dirty through age and wear, the bathroom worktop was missing the formica exposing, bear wood. The restaurant food was adequate but the service was poor you were made to feel that you were doing them a favour just being there. It is clear the owners are just taking the money and not reinvesting it into the business or training for the staff. If you have the choice do not go.

My wife and I celebrated our silver wedding anniversary in Tobago, we had a two week stay at toucan in crown point. Situated not far from the airport and rite in the heart of the local community this little garden oasis is the true Caribbean and a taste of paradise. The rooms are arranged either around the swimming pool or in a quite garden setting and comfortable and well serviced. There is a beautiful wooden restaurant were you can have your fill of top quality local and international dishes. The manager Troy and all his staff always seem genuinely pleased to see you and make you feel most welcome. Oliver makes killer cocktails, so be careful.
Staying there we were close to store bay where you can go out on a boat tour of the local reef, and Pigeon point heritage park a truly stunning beach Facility. I can recommend this hotel for either a relaxing break or a go out and get style holiday. Lovely place lovely people

just arrived back from staying at the Toucan Inn, The hotel is a good base for either the beach or exploring the island. we stayed in a pool side room, it was a medium size room with air con and was cleaned on a daily basis. The staff were friendly, KP was the life and soul of the place. dinning in the restaurant at night was amazing due to the great food and service and humour from Kp . Any information or trips you want to go on see Mr, B his your man. One trip not to miss is sunday school with Mr, B would definitely return to this hotel .as its such a good location.

We've just spent a great week at the Toucan Inn. My husband was diving and I stayed mostly by the pool. The hotel is a perfect base for divers with many dive sites fairly close and the basic decor ideal for accomodating diving equipment. Our room was large, comfortable and cleaned daily, plus the air conditioning worked well. The staff were all very friendly and the food was great. Check out the specials and the piña colada! My only criticism would be the pool which was too deep for me and could do with refurbishing.
We also saw humming birds and had a marvellous trip to the rainforest. Best of all we went out one night to watch a leatherback turtle lay her eggs. Awesome.
We would definitely come back.

We stayed here for a week whilst diving with R&Sea, arranged by Oonas as a club trip. We were a large party of 12 so nearly took over the place, but the staff made our stay a pleasant one, with Troy expertly managing a lunchtime mix-up and the multi-tasking KP providing all round entertainment and bar services in the way only a sleep-deprived local could. They're both an asset to the Inn. The rooms were basic with some interesting tiling techniques in the ensuite, but overall clean, regularly serviced and the all important air conditioning unit was flawless.

Notes for the traveller would be to take insect repellent and a four way adapter or two with USA style adapters, and make sure all your stuff can run off 120v. There's no tea/coffee in the room, but free 24hr tea/coffee facilities are by the pool which was clean and warm. Take factor 50 too, the sun is HOT in Tobago!

Overall I'd recommend them and would use them again if travelling to the South of the island.

Room Tip: The garden rooms are away from the pool so quieter if a group is in. The corner garden rooms (5 and...
