We stayed in this property in August. We were a party of 14 including Young and teenage children. We had a super time. The property is beautiful, with great grounds & pool. It was sufficiently spacious to accommodate 3 separate families. We would definitely stay again.
Seventeen of us had the time of our lives at this wonderful chateau. Massive rooms and space everywhere meant all the kids could wander around safely. Amazingly well equipped kitchen and a great outside dining table with plenty of chairs meant that dinner drifted into sundown and the stars coming out before retiring to large comfortable beds. The pool was a big hit with the children and the whole place was a big hit with the adults. The number of times somebody said "you know what .... I could live here" must have set a record. It was a real wrench to leave, but it will be great to go back!!
A very quiet, peaceful setting surrounded by fields of sunflowers. The chateau is beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. We are a family of 18 including four generations and everyone enjoyed staying here. The children (aged between 2 -8) and most adults, swam in the pool every day, regardless of the weather. The adults enjoyed balmy evening meals on the patio and early morning coffee! We had numerous day trips including Rochefort to see the Hermione, La Rochelle for a lovely shopping day, a trip to the beach, where the older boys enjoyed body boarding and a trip to Paleosite, where the children had a great time. Fabrice was on hand for anything we needed and responded very promptly. All in all, a great holiday and we would definitely go back. Thank you Jamieson and Karele, for letting us stay in your lovely home.
We had a truly fantastic holiday at the beautiful Petit Champagne. We were a large family group of mixed ages, including young children , teenagers and grandparents. The house is enormous, plenty of space for everyone but also cosy and welcoming. The garden and grounds are lovely too, very tranquil, along with the excellent pool area brilliant for chilling. The surrounding countryside is peaceful but with plenty of interesting places to visit. We loved Rochefort with it' s Saturday market. Other favourites were the I'le de Re, we loved La Flotte, Saintes, La Rochelle and nearby St. Jean D'Angely which has a lovely riverside area and is a pretty and interesting town. All in all we would thoroughly recommend.
