“Excellent Service”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

When I read that it was a wine lodge, I expected wines, but this is not that type of accommodation. This is a place to stay while visiting the wineyards. The service was excellent. All the reservations were made for us to all the wineyards and restaurants, and the drivers were all set up to come and pick us up. I did not have to do anything except decide where I wanted to go. My type of vacation.

Dear ERajah

Thanks for your lovely review, we are glad you had "your type of vacations" that's nice to know.

Regarding wines you where expecting, we are fairly new and our little vines are not ready to produce wine yet, we have to wait a couple of years more, we hope you can taste our own wines on your next visit.

Thanks again and kind regards,

Francisco :)

Simple, easy, comfortable lodging on a quiet country road right on the periphery of Mendoza's oldest wine region. Easy, well protected bike lanes and nice quality bikes right from the posada make for killer access and easy riding. A few minutes walk to La Rural museum and an olive club. Owner availability, charm, kindness, knowledge of the area and personal connections were a huge bonus. I liked their pet dogs and home grown peaches as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at TikayKilla Lodge & Wines. Francisco is very helpful and can assist you and provide information, when you want to arrange a trip, rent bicycles, visit a winery etc.
Bicycles can be picked up at the lodge, which is very convenient.

My boyfriend and I spent three nights at TikayKilla in December during our three week trip around South America. We stayed at several luxury hotels and many small lodges/hotels during the trip and TikayKilla was our favorite. The atmosphere and attentive care of the owner, Francisco, was wonderful. Francisco is the best concierge ever! He set up all of our transportation for anywhere we needed to go, had great advice for food/drink options, and he is amazing with emails before you even get there. Being the perfectionist that I am and not having been to South America before, it was great having someone to ask questions and to help take care of details prior to leaving home. The lodge has everything you need - bikes to explore local wineries, great coffee and food in the mornings, use of grill in the backyard, company of a couple of fun people and two adorable pups, and it is far enough from any chaos to be genuinely peaceful. The best way to describe our visit is to say that it was like visiting family. We were genuinely sad to leave and could have easily spent the entire three weeks of the trip at TikayKilla.

The vibe here is just wonderful. Its peaceful and sunny, and the owner Francisco is extremely helpful. He speaks perfect English and arranges transportation and excursions for your every desire.

Tikay Killa have 4 double rooms. Perfect for couples, friends and solo travellers - the atmosphere is relaxed and it is easy to get both great discussions and privacy.

Lovely garden w/ a small pool. Get a bottle of red and gaze at the stars!
Perfectly scrambled eggs for breakfast (The only ones we got in Argentina, very nice touch!)
Lots of fantastic bodegas in the area - Trapiche is a 10 minute bike ride away and definitely worth checking out.
Bikes easily at hand.

We spent 4 nights here, and hope to go back sometime to visit Francisco and his lovely wife Macarena soon!

I spent four nights at TikayKilla with my boyfriend this past November, Mendoza was the first leg of our Argentina trip, and could not have been better, largely in part to our wonderful stay at TikayKilla. Francisco is an awesome owner, and made sure we were all set with everything we could ever need: breakfast, a hair dryer, reservations at top vineyards, tips and recommendations for where to go and eat in town, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and of course Francisco's two dogs! We can't wait to go back again sometime.

I had the best time at TikaKilla Lodge. Helena (the owner's friend watching the lodge while he was away) was extremely helpful and took care of everything for me. The lodge is close to all the vineyards in Maipu and a short ride away from Mendoza. I can't wait to come back! Thank you for an amazing time.
